A synchronization system or module controls the transmission of voice or music (or other media) during a media program, consistent with a state of the media program. When a media program is in a voice state, a creator of a media program may speak or sing words that are captured and transmitted to devices of listeners. When the media program is in a media state, the creator may instruct or command that a media entity that has been pre-buffered on the devices of the listeners may be played to such listeners. A synchronization system or module that interprets instructions or commands of a creator or interprets interactions of a creator of the media program may likewise instruct or command devices of the listeners to play voice or media, in a synchronized manner.

Synchronizing live and pre-recorded content of media programs

Artificial intelligence agents generate media content for broadcasting to devices of listeners over one or more networks. An agent is trained based on episodes of previously aired media programs to identify topics of the episodes and media entities played during such episodes. Words or phrases spoken by human creators during such episodes are identified and modeled. The agent selects a topic of an episode of a media program and selects media entities that are consistent with those typically played during the media programs. The agent also identifies sets of words that are consistent with the topic, and transmits audio data including the selected media entities and sets of words spoken in voices having linguistic styles, a prosody or acoustic characteristics of the human creators to devices of listeners of the media program.

Using artificial creators to generate media content

As a media program is aired to listeners, agents executed by a control system monitor actions by the creator or by listeners to ensure that the creator or the listeners comply with relevant policies and that the media program is aired as scheduled. The agents are programmed with sets of rules regarding content, language, advertising or other restrictions, and configured to process signals representative of actions taken by the creator or the listeners to determine whether such actions comply with such rules. The signals may represent spoken words, written messages, or interactions by listeners, among other actions. The agents interpret the signals to identify intended actions of creators or listeners, and to determine whether the intended actions would comply with each of the rules associated with the media program. The agents are also configured to identify and execute alternative actions as necessary.

Agents for monitoring live broadcasts for policy enforcement

During an episode of a media program, a creator of the media program requests that listeners join and participate in the episode. In reply, one or more listeners provide audio data to a control system of the media program, e.g., by speaking utterances that are captured by devices of the listeners. The audio data is processed to identify the users, and to determine attributes of the audio data, to identify words expressed in the audio data, and to determine features such as sentiments or opinions of the audio data. The listeners that provided the data are ranked or scored based on information regarding the respective listeners, the attributes of the audio data, or the words or sentiments. One or more of the listeners are recommended to the creator to be permitted to participate in the episode of the media program, or automatically joined in the episode.

Evaluating listeners who request to join a media program

Messages provided by users in a group communication experience are processed to identify media based on content of the messages. The messages may include references to artists, titles, genres, or eras of media, or express sentiments regarding the group communication experience. Media identified based on such references or sentiments is retrieved and transmitted to devices of one or more users participating in the group communication experience. The media is identified for users or for the group communication experience based on subjective or objective factors and played by the devices of the users participating in the group communication experience.

Selecting media to complement group communication experiences

Advertisements for brands that are to be aired during media programs are selected based on similarities between the brands and creators of the media programs. As a media program is being aired, data representing content of a media program is processed to identify words being spoken or sung during the media program and sentiments associated with the media program. The media program is classified based on the words and sentiments, and a classification of the media program is compared to attributes of advertisements to determine which of the advertisements is best suited for airing during the media program. Additionally, a set of words that, if spoken or sung during a media program would establish conditions favorable to a given advertisement may be identified and provided to a creator.

Selecting advertisements for media programs and establishing favorable conditions for advertisements

A creator establishes a media program including a plurality of media files or content in accordance with a broadcast plan. Mixing systems establish connections with a mobile device of the creator, and with sources of the audio files or content, either manually or automatically in response to instructions of the creator. Broadcast systems establish connections with computer devices of listeners and a mixing system. Conference systems establish connections with the mobile device of the creator and a mixing system. The connections established may be one-way or two-way channels. The media program may include live or previously recorded audio content including words or sounds of the creator, as well as advertisements, music, news, sports, weather, or other programming. The media program may also include live or previously recorded interviews or other conversations with guests, including but not limited to one or more listeners.

Synchronizing media content streams for live broadcasts and listener interactivity

Listeners to media programs provide feedback to creators or other entities associated with the media programs in the form of one or more spoken utterances. When a listener to a media program speaks one or more words to a microphone or other system, the words are captured and processed to determine an emotion of the listener, or to determine whether the words include any objectionable content. Data including the spoken words is captured and stored, and presented to the creator of the media program. Notifications of the utterances are provided to the creator, who may identify one of the utterances, and include the utterance in the media program, or invite the listener who provided the utterances to participate in the media program.
