A system and method for configuring an application is described. The system identifies user collaboration data of users of an application. The user collaboration data indicates durations of collaborations between one or more users using the application. The system computes an influencer score of a first user based on the duration of collaborations between the first user and the other users. The system determines that the influencer score of the first user exceeds an influencer score threshold and generates a configuration setting of the application for the first user. The system applies the configuration setting to the application for the first user.

Adoption content propagation based on user collaboration data

An abstraction layer communicates with a plurality of applications executing on a multi-application platform. The abstraction exposes a standard interface for the plurality of applications to communicate content status information. An indication is received that a new content item will be generated. A record is generated that is immutably associated with the new content item. The record is updated with information received from the application associated with the content item, the information pertaining to a changed status of the content item. In response to a command to delete the content item, it is determined whether to confirm deletion of the content item based on one or more data retention policies. The record is updated to indicate a reason for granting or denying the deletion and a source of the delete command.

Integrated disposition for file retention management

Customers in regulated industries face demanding compliance regulations, including content immutability. While broadened to allow software-based solutions, the regulations for immutability require content preservation to prevent overwriting, erasure or alteration of the content, where the preservation must be implemented through irrevocable features. Embodiments are directed to provision of an administrative user experience to enable customers to create a preservation policy that defines item(s) to be preserved. After detecting enablement of the policy, the item(s) may be preserved, a preservation lock on the policy may be initiated by disabling controls associated with the policy, and an attribute may be set to the policy to identify the policy as locked. Preservation of the item(s) may prevent content of the item(s) from being overwritten, erased, and/or altered, and the preservation lock on the policy may prevent alteration and/or revocation of the policy for a duration of the lock to satisfy the regulations.

Content preservation and policy lock features to provide immutability for regulated compliance

Technologies are described to increase a data limit for a user of a communication application by introducing additional archive mailboxes as the original archive fills up or subsequently added archive mailboxes fill up. Thus, a user's data limit may be effectively removed through the use of N additional archive mailboxes. The additional mailboxes may be integrated into the architecture of the communication application such that their use is transparent to the user and/or an administrator of the communication application or associated service. In other examples, additional mailboxes may be used to add to the capacity of the primary mailbox (cached) as well.

Large data management in communication applications through multiple mailboxes

A method may include retrieving metric data on a plurality of groups of users, the metric data including: a value of a performance metric for each of the plurality of groups; and an indication that a first group of the plurality of groups is anomalous with respect to a value of the performance metric of a control group of the plurality of groups; and presenting a user interface, the user interface including: a first portion including a visualization of a comparison of the value of the performance metric for the first group and values of the performance metric of other groups in the plurality of groups; and a second portion including a visualization of trend data of the performance metric for the first group over a period of time.

When tenants migrate data from on-premises archiving solutions to a hosted service, tenants should maintain just enough data for compliance purposes and dispose of data that is no longer needed to reduce overall liability and compliance risk exposure. Embodiments are directed to providing selective import of data to a hosted service through a security and compliance system associated with the hosted service to reduce overall liability and compliance risk exposure. Data, usage pattern and security/compliance policies associated with a tenant of the hosted service may be analyzed. A model for importing tenant data may be created based on the analysis. A suggestion may be presented to the tenant based on the model, where the suggestion includes a filter for importing tenant data. In response to receiving a confirmation to implement the suggestion, the filter may be applied to the tenant data as it is imported to the hosted service.

In some examples, the additional mailboxes may be integrated into the architecture of the communication application such that their use is transparent to the user and/or an administrator of the communication application or associated service through the use of an application programming interface (API) that exposes a single multivalued strongly typed collection instead of dealing with multiple attributes and extending the schema every time a new type needs to be added. A mailbox locations attribute may act as the main storage of serialized mailbox locations and a mailbox identifier attribute may be used for indexing.

Architecture for large data management in communication applications through multiple mailboxes

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a user interface that enables an administrator to monitor the status of one or more long-running processes executing on a system. According to one or more embodiments, information about the long-running processes is received, analyzed and converted into a single format. This information is then stored in a storage device in the single format. In response to a command request periodically received from a user interface, summary information about the one or more long-running processes is provided to, and displayed on, the user interface. Upon receipt of a user selection of at least a portion of the summary information, the user interface issues a second command request that is similar to the first command request, but includes additional parameters, to retrieve additional information about the selected summary information. Once the additional information is received, the additional information is presented on the user interface.
