An O-RAN packet to be transmitted includes a header having a packet sequence number that is independent of an uplink/downlink direction in which the packet is to be transmitted. The header, which may be an eCPRI or RoE header, is generated without regard for a data direction bit. The packet sequence number is generated within a sequence count generator of the controller that operates separately from generation of a remainder of the packet and that ignores the data direction bit.

Methods and apparatuses for handling an acknowledgement of C-plane message in a wireless communication system. A method of a transmitter device comprises: generating a section extension for an ACK/NACK request including an ackNackReqId field and an extLen field, wherein the ackNackReqId field indicates the ACK/NACK request ID of a section description and the extLen field indicates a size of the section extension; transmitting, to a receiver device, the C-plane message including the section extension for the ACK/NACK request; and receiving, from the receiver device, an ACK message corresponding to the C-plane message.

Method and apparatus for robust message transmission reception over fronthaul network

A control plane section type message indicates a section extension message that includes a field numZeroPadBin indicating a number of zero padded bins to be added after a symbol indicated by a section header of the control plane section type message for FFT/iFFT. The control plane section type message may be one of a Section Type 1 message, a Section Type 3 message, or a Section Type 5 message, and may be associated with a MBSFN subframe. The value of the numZeroPadBin field is determined based on SCS, FFT size and CP combination of NCP/ECP in a subframe or and a slot.

Apparatus and method for signaling of zero padding bins in fronthaul interface

A transmitter device in a wireless communication system is provided. The transmitter device comprises a processor configured to: generate an extType field indicating a section extension; generate a mcScaleReMask field indicating a set of resource elements; generate a mcScaleOffset field indicating a power offset value; generate an extLen field indicating a number of a pair of the mcScaleReMask and the mcScaleOffset fields included in the section extension; and generate a downlink and uplink (DL/UL) control message including the extType field, the mcScaleReMask field, and the mcScaleOffset field, and the extLen field. The transmitter device further comprises a transceiver operably connected to the processor, the transceiver configured to transmit, to a receiver, the DL/UL control message.
