A rechargeable battery includes: an electrode assembly formed by disposing first and second electrodes on either side of each separator, the first and second electrodes each having coated regions and uncoated region tabs; a case for accommodating the electrode assembly; and a cap plate attached to an opening of the case to close and seal the case and having a vent plate formed integrally with a vent hole, wherein the vent plate is formed beyond the thickness of the cap plate.

Rechargeable battery

A rechargeable battery according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: an electrode assembly; a casing which accommodates the electrode assembly and has an opening; a cap assembly which is coupled through the opening and seals the casing; a spacer which is positioned between the electrode assembly and the casing and has multiple holes; and a vent member which is formed on a bottom surface of the casing which is positioned opposite to the opening.

A rechargeable battery according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a separator, and a second electrode; a case that accommodates the electrode assembly, and of which one side through which the electrode assembly is inserted is opened; a cap assembly provided in the opening of the case by being fixed thereto; a vent hole that is formed in a bottom plate of the case, and of which side walls are multi-stepped; and a vent member provided in the vent, wherein a depth of the vent is greater than a thickness of the bottom plate.

A rechargeable battery includes: a case; an electrode assembly accommodated in the case; a cap plate sealing a top opening of the case; and a first electrode terminal. The first electrode terminal includes a first terminal pillar electrically connected to the electrode assembly and passing through the cap plate to upwardly protrude therefrom, and a first terminal plate having a first terminal opening. The first terminal pillar has a slit groove extending along its outer periphery at an upper end thereof, and the first terminal plate includes a protruding portion which protrudes into the first terminal opening and is in the slit groove of the first terminal pillar to couple the first terminal plate to the first terminal pillar.

A secondary battery including an electrode assembly; a case containing the electrode assembly; a cap plate sealing an opening of the case; a collector terminal electrically connected to the electrode assembly and protruding through the cap plate; a coupling plate on the cap plate; an insulating member on at least one area of the coupling plate; and a terminal plate on the coupling plate and coupled to the collector terminal.

A rechargeable battery includes an electrode assembly in a case, a terminal which passes through and protrudes from a cap plate, and a current collector plate in the case. The current collector plate electrically connects the electrode assembly and the terminal portion. The current collector plate has a fuse area which includes a fuse hole having a substantially elongated shape with round sides oriented in a widthwise direction of the current collector plate.

A secondary battery according to one or more embodiments includes a case defining an inner space, an electrode assembly in the case, the electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate, and a separator between the first and second electrode plates, a cap plate sealing the case and electrically connected to the first electrode plate of the electrode assembly, the cap plate including a safety vent, an electrode terminal part extending through the cap plate, and a connector having a first end electrically connected to the electrode terminal part and a second end electrically connected to the safety vent.

Secondary battery

A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate and a separator between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate; a case accommodating the electrode assembly and having an opening; a cap plate sealing the opening of the case, the cap plate electrically connected to the second electrode plate and having a short-circuit hole; an inversion plate arranged in the short-circuit hole; a first terminal plate electrically connected to the first electrode plate and spaced apart from the cap plate; and a fuse part comprising a first fuse and a second fuse spaced apart from each other in the first terminal plate.

A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly including a first uncoated portion extending in a first direction, and a second uncoated portion extending in a second direction opposite to the first direction; a case accommodating the electrode assembly; a first terminal extending to an outside of the case and being connected to the first uncoated portion; a first cover plate coupled to the first terminal and closing the case in the first direction, the first terminal being insulated from the case; a connection plate connected between the second uncoated portion and the case; and a second cover plate covering the connection plate and closing the case in the second direction.

A rechargeable battery includes an electrode assembly having a first electrode tab and a second electrode tab; a first current collection plate electrically connected to the first electrode tab; a case accommodating the electrode assembly; a cap assembly including a cap plate sealing the top-end opening of the case; a connecting pin located between the first current collection plate and the cap plate and electrically connecting the first current collection plate and the cap plate; and a first terminal unit electrically contacting the first current collection plate and protruding through the cap plate.

A rechargeable battery, which can improve safety by maintaining a short-circuit state when the internal pressure of the rechargeable battery exceeds a critical pressure due to overcharge (or any other reason). In one embodiment, the rechargeable battery includes an electrode assembly, a case accommodating the electrode assembly, a cap assembly sealing the case and including a cap plate, and a short-circuit member including a first short-circuit plate coupled to the cap plate and a second short-circuit plate on a surface of the first short-circuit plate facing toward the electrode assembly and coupled to the cap plate.

According to some embodiments of the present invention, a secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate, and a separator between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate; a case accommodating the electrode assembly and including a top opening; a cap plate sealing the top opening of the case and including a short-circuit hole; a first electrode terminal electrically coupled to the first electrode plate and protruding to an upper portion of the cap plate; an inductive element electrically coupled to the first electrode terminal and having self-inductance; a first connection plate electrically coupled to the inductive element and separated from the cap plate; and an inversion plate in the short-circuit hole.

A rechargeable battery includes fuses inside and outside a cell, thereby improving safety by preventing abnormal breakdown from occurring in the cell due to an electric short circuit. The rechargeable battery includes an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate and a separator between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate, a case accommodating the electrode assembly, and a first electrode terminal and a second electrode terminal electrically connected to the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate and protruding to the outside of the case. One of the first electrode terminal and the second electrode terminal includes a fuse part.

A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate including a first electrode non-coating portion on which an active material of the first electrode plate is not coated, a second electrode plate including a second electrode non-coating portion on which an active material of the second electrode plate is not coated, and a separator between the first and second electrode plates; a collector electrically connected to an electrode non-coating portion of the first and second electrode non-coating portions, the collector including an insulation part at an insulation region of the collector adjacent the first and second electrode plates; and a case accommodating the electrode assembly and the collector.

A rechargeable battery including an electrode assembly including a first and second electrode, and a separator interposed between the first and second electrode; a case receiving the electrode assembly and having a top end opening; a cap assembly sealing the top end opening of the case, the cap assembly including a first terminal part and a second terminal part outwardly protruding; and a first collector plate received inside the case and electrically connecting the first electrode and the first terminal part, wherein the first collector plate includes a first lead part including a first electrode connection part connected to the first electrode, a first terminal connection part connected to the first terminal part, and a first connecting part electrically connecting the first electrode connection part and the first terminal connection part; and a first resin part on the first lead part, the first resin part covering the first connecting part.
