A display apparatus includes a display panel in which a plurality of pixels and a plurality of data lines and a plurality of sensing lines connected to the pixels are arranged, a first driving circuit connected to data lines and sensing lines arranged in a first pixel column and a second pixel column adjacent to the first pixel column, and a second driving circuit connected to data lines and sensing lines arranged in a third pixel column adjacent to the second pixel column and a fourth pixel column adjacent to the third pixel column.

Display apparatus

A method of operating a display device involves detecting whether a frame mode of the display device is a normal mode in which image data are received with a constant frame rate or a variable frame mode in which the image data are received with a variable frame rate. An output buffer drivability of a data driver included in the display device may be set according to the detected frame mode, and an image is displayed by outputting data voltages corresponding to the image data with slew rates corresponding to the set output buffer drivability. Power consumption in output buffer amplifiers may be selectively lowered by setting a relatively low output buffer drivability corresponding to a relatively low slew rate.

Display device supporting normal and variable frame modes

A display apparatus includes a display panel, a timing controller, a data driver, and a gate driver. The timing controller receives image data at a number of frames per second of a first level and generates a gate control signal and a data control signal. The timing controller includes an image converter that operates in film mode or normal mode when the input image data are moving image data, and that outputs film image data at a number of frames per second of second level lower than the first level during the film mode. The data driver applies a data voltage corresponding to the film image data to the display panel based on the data control signal. The gate driver applies a gate voltage to the display panel based on the gate control signal. The display panel operates at a frequency of the second level during the film mode.

Display apparatus and method of driving the same

A display apparatus includes a display panel to display an image, a first frame counter to count a first number of frames during a first duration and to be reset when the first number reaches a first reference number, a second frame counter to count a second number of the frames during a second duration and to be reset when the second number reaches a second reference number, wherein the second duration occurs after and is shorter than the first duration, a level counter to hold a count value at a first count value during the first duration, to change the count value when the first frame counter is reset, and to change the count value when the second frame counter is reset, and a common voltage generator to control a level of a common voltage to correspond to the count value and to output the common voltage.

A display device includes: a display panel configured to display an image; a timing controller configured to output line configuration signals, frame configuration signals, and image signals; a plurality of data drivers each of which is configured to receive the line configuration signals, the frame configuration signals, and the image signals and provide a data voltage corresponding to the image signals to the display panel according to the line configuration signals and the frame configuration signals; a high speed driving line configured to connect the timing controller and one of the data drivers and transfer the image signals; and a low speed driving line configured to connect the timing controller and the data drivers and transfer the line configuration signals.

A display device includes: a timing controller which receives a data control signal from, or outputs the data control signal to, an external device through a wiring, and selectively outputs a power control signal, a display device data signal and a common voltage control signal to a first or second serial communication wiring based on a driving mode determined based on the data control signal; a memory unit which stores the display device data signal, receives the display device data signal from, or outputs the display device data signal to, the timing controller through the first serial communication wiring; and a power generator which receives or outputs the power control signal or the common voltage signal from or to the timing controller through the second serial communication wiring, and generates a voltage adjusted by the power control signal and a common voltage adjusted by the common voltage control signal.

A display device includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels respectively connected to a plurality of gate lines and to a plurality of data lines, a gate driving circuit configured to drive the plurality of gate lines, a data driving circuit configured to drive the plurality of data lines, a timing controller configured to provide a data signal to the data driving circuit, configured to control the gate driving circuit, and configured to output a voltage control signal, and a voltage generator configured to generate a plurality of reference voltages in response to the voltage control signal, wherein the data driving circuit is further configured to convert the data signal into a grayscale voltage based on the plurality of reference voltages, wherein a voltage level of each of the reference voltages is changed periodically within a range.

Display device

A display apparatus includes a timing controller and a display panel. The timing controller generates output image data based on input image data and generates a polarity control signal by analyzing the input image data. The display panel displays a plurality of frame images based on the output image data during a plurality of frames and operates based on an inversion driving scheme in which a polarity pattern of the plurality of frame images is changed based on the polarity control signal per N frames, where N is a natural number. The number N is variable based on the polarity control signal.

Display apparatus and method of operating the same

A display apparatus includes a display panel, a first timing controller, a second timing controller and a third timing controller. The first timing controller controls an operation of a first region in the display panel, and generates a reference clock signal. The second timing controller controls an operation of a second region in the display panel, and receives the reference clock signal. The third timing controller controls an operation of a third region in the display panel, and receives the reference clock signal. The first, second and third timing controllers are synchronized with one another in response to the reference clock signal and a state synchronization signal, and operate in one of a plurality of states depending on an operation of the display apparatus.
