A light valve panel and a liquid crystal display using the same are discussed. The light valve panel according to an aspect includes a liquid crystal layer, a first electrode receiving a light valve data voltage through a light valve data line, and a second electrode facing the first electrode with the liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween, and receiving a common voltage swinging in the same phase in synchronization with the light valve data voltage. The liquid crystal display device according to another aspect includes a display panel, a backlight unit, and a light valve panel.

Light valve panel and liquid crystal display using the same

A light valve panel and a liquid crystal display using the same are discussed. The light valve panel according to an aspect includes a liquid crystal layer, a first electrode including a block corresponding one-to-one with a light valve data line, and a second electrode facing the first electrode with the liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween. An angle between a vertical edge of the block and the light valve data line is greater than 0&#xb0; and less than 90&#xb0;. The liquid crystal display device according to another aspect includes a display panel, a backlight unit, and a light valve panel.

A display device is disclosed. A display panel includes a plurality of subpixels of a plurality of colors arranged in a matrix form, and a plurality of gate lines and data lines respectively connected to the subpixels. A data driver is configured to supply data voltages to the subpixels through a plurality of source channels and the data lines. A switch circuit is configured to connect one of the source channels selectively to one of the data lines during a first scan period in one horizontal period and to a different one of the data lines during a second scan period in the one horizontal period. The data driver is configured to supply data voltages of one color to the one of the source channels during both the first scan period and the second scan period in the one horizontal period.

The mirror display includes a plurality of first electrodes disposed on a first substrate, a plurality of sensor lines disposed on the first substrate, the plurality of sensor lines connected to the plurality of first electrodes, a plurality of second electrodes disposed on a second substrate, the plurality of second electrodes facing the first substrate, a liquid crystal layer interposed between the plurality of first electrodes and the plurality of second electrodes, a plurality of mirror driving lines on the second substrate, the plurality of mirror driving lines connected to the plurality of second electrodes, and a reflective polarizing film attached to the second substrate.

Mirror display

A light valve panel and a liquid crystal display using the same are discussed. The light valve panel according to an embodiment includes a transparent electrode layer having a plurality of blocks supplied with a voltage through data input lines. The transparent electrode layer has a low resistance or has a high resistance. When a transparent electrode layer has low resistance, each block is divided into a plurality of segment electrodes connected through a resistance pattern. A voltage is distributed to the plurality of segment electrodes of each block based on the resistance pattern. When a transparent electrode layer has high resistance, the voltage distribution in each block is based on a resistance difference that varies based on a distance between voltage feeding positions.

This document relates to a liquid crystal display capable of improving picture quality by compensating for difference in charge between liquid crystal cells. The liquid crystal display comprises a liquid crystal display panel; a gate driving circuit; a charge difference compensation circuit configured to generate, in a specific gray level range, analog positive gamma voltages having a first reference level and analog negative gamma voltages having a second reference level in synchronization with a first scan time at which a first gate line is driven, and generate the analog positive gamma voltages having a first compensation level that is lower than the first reference level and the analog negative gamma voltages having a second compensation level that is higher than the second reference level in synchronization with a second scan time at which a second gate line is driven; and a data driving circuit.
