A display device includes a side surface which is exposed to outside the display device, a circuit element layer including a gate line layer spaced apart from the side surface of the display device, a data line layer which is exposed to outside the display device at the side surface of the display device, and an insulating layer between the gate line layer and the data line layer, and a pad which faces the side surface of the display device and is connected to the circuit element layer at the data line layer.

Display apparatus

A display apparatus includes a light source generating blue light. A display panel is configured to display an image. A light guide member is disposed below the display panel. A first light conversion layer is disposed between the light guide member and the display panel. The first light conversion layer includes a plurality of quantum dots. A low refractive layer is disposed between the light guide member and the first light conversion layer. The low refractive layer has a refractive index that is less than that of the light guide member. A second light conversion layer is disposed between the light source and the first light conversion layer and includes a plurality of fluoride-based or nitride-based phosphors. The first light conversion layer is configured to convert the blue light into green light, and the second light conversion layer is configured to convert the blue light into red light.

Backlight unit and display apparatus including the same

A display device including a light source member including a light-emitting device which emits a first light having a central wavelength in a wavelength region of about 390 nm to about 410 nm, and a first phosphor converting the first light into a second light having a central wavelength in a wavelength region of about 440 nm to about 460 nm, a display panel disposed on the light source member, and a color conversion layer disposed between the light source member and the display panel and including a luminous body which is excited by at least one of the first light or the second light and emits a light in a wavelength region which is different from that of the second light.

A curved display device includes a display panel which displays images using a light, the display panel curved along a first direction, a backlight unit which generates and provides the light to the display panel, and an accommodating member including a bottom portion and sidewalls which extend from the bottom portion to define a space in which the backlight unit is disposed. The backlight unit includes a plurality of light sources which generates and emits the light, and a circuit pattern film including a circuit pattern which electrically connects the light sources to each other. The circuit pattern film is attached to a first sidewall among the sidewalls of the accommodating member.

Curved display device

A display device includes a display panel including a display surface defined therein and curved in a first direction, and a backlight unit which provides the display panel with light. The backlight unit includes a center light source, outer light sources, and a reflective layer. The display panel includes a display surface defined therein and curved. The center light source includes center light emitting diode packages. Each of the outer light sources includes outer light emitting diode packages. The reflective layer defines a reflective surface. Each of the center light emitting diode packages is disposed on a first support surface. At least one of the outer light emitting diode packages is disposed on a second surface, which is different from the reflective layer.

A light generation member includes a light source which includes light source units which generate a first light, a light conversion member which converts the first light to a second light, and a light diffusion member which is elongated in a first direction, in which is defined first grooves respectively corresponding to the light source units, the light diffusion member diffusing the first light generated by the light source unites and providing the diffused first light to the light conversion member. The light diffusion member is between the light conversion member and the light source in a second direction crossing the first direction, and the first grooves defined in the light diffusion member are each elongated in a third direction substantially perpendicular to the first and second directions.

Light generation member including light diffusion member and display apparatus having the same

A light source includes a substrate and a plurality of light emitting devices disposed on the substrate. Each of the light emitting devices is configured to generate a first light. A plurality of quantum-dot devices are respectively disposed on the light emitting devices. The quantum-dot devices are configured to convert the first light to a second light. The quantum-dot devices are configured to be attached to and detached from the light emitting devices, respectively.
