A user equipment (UE) device generates a first channel estimate for a physical telecommunications channel based on a first demodulation reference signal (DMRS) received at the UE. The first DMRS has a format that includes a signal at a first number of symbol positions of an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) scheme. A data transmission received at the UE is demodulated based at least in part on the first channel estimate. When the UE detects a condition trigger to change a format of the DMRS to have a second number of symbol positions, the UE requests, from a network access node (NAN), a DMRS format with the second number of symbol positions. Subsequent data transmissions are demodulated based at least in part on a second channel estimate for the physical telecommunications channel that is generated using a DMRS transmitted at the second number of symbol positions.

User-specific demodulation reference signals

Methods and systems are provided for controlling a maximum transmit power of a high power user equipment (HPUE) using dedicated signaling. The methods and systems receive signal data corresponding to signals from a carrier cell. Based on the signal data, the methods and systems determine whether an interference level of the carrier cell is above a threshold value. Upon determining that the interference level of the carrier cell is above the threshold value, the methods and systems communicate an indication to the HPUE to transmit at a first power level. Upon determining that the interference level of the carrier cell is below the threshold value, the methods and systems communicate an indication to the HPUE to transmit at a second power level. The first power level is lower than the second power level.

PMAX control for 5G multicarrier, multiband system

Methods, media, and systems are provided for a priority-based multi-user (MU) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) pairing threshold for codebook beamforming. The methods, media, and systems identify a plurality of user device candidates for a user device pairing. A first user device of the plurality of user device candidates having a higher priority than another user device of the plurality of user device candidates is identified. Correlations between one or more beams associated with one or more of the plurality of user device candidates are determined. Based on determining the correlations, user devices can be paired for resource sharing. In some embodiments, the user devices are paired based on beam correlations being below a threshold. For example, the threshold can be determined based on a priority of one or more of the user devices.

Priority-based MU-MIMO pairing threshold for codebook beamforming in 5G NR massive MIMO systems

Methods, media, and systems are provided for adapting a beamforming mode based on channel state information. The methods, media, and systems receive, at a base station associated with an antenna array, the channel state information from one or more devices. Based on the channel state information, the methods, media, and systems determine whether an uplink signal measurement is above a first threshold and whether a downlink signal measurement is above a second threshold. Based on whether the uplink signal measurement is above the first threshold and whether the downlink signal measurement is above the second threshold, the methods, media, and systems instruct one or more antenna elements corresponding to the antenna array to schedule wireless transmissions utilizing closed-loop beamforming or open-loop beamforming.

Systems and methods for cell-level beamforming mode adaptation

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media herein modify the configuration of one or more antenna elements of an antenna array based on signal quality information associated with one or more UE devices. The signal quality information of the UE devices can be analyzed by a base station and the base station can respond to the change in signal quality of the UE devices by modifying one or more antenna elements from a first mapping to a second mapping to improve the quality of transmissions between the UE devices and a base station.

Systems and methods provided for controlling a signal power level of a beam at a cell site of a telecommunications network during an atmospheric condition include a user device and a cell site. The cell site includes a beam control system communicatively coupled to the user device. The beam control system is to determine whether a rise of interference is greater than a threshold during an atmospheric condition, determine a power increase status of the directional signal if the rise of interference is greater than the threshold, generate a secondary signal power level based on an increase of a first signal power level in response to the power increase status of the directional signal associated with an active state, and determine whether the secondary signal power level of the directional signal is greater than a target signal power level.

Systems and methods provided for controlling a downlink channel based on a time advance and a beam mode at a cell site. The cell site includes a link management system communicatively coupled to one or more user devices. The link management system is to replace a response identifier with a cell identifier responsive to a move from an idle mode to an active mode, store a time advance and the cell identifier based on a time advance group that corresponds to the one or more user devices, adapt a quality indication offset based on the time advance group, determine a downlink channel indication based on the quality indication offset and the time advance group, and activate a beam mode for communication with the one or more user devices of the time advance group based on the downlink channel indication.

PDCCH link control based on timing advance and user service beam mode in massive MIMO systems

A wireless communication network delivers a wireless data service from a source access node and a target access node. The network determines a source QoS for the wireless data service from the source access node and a target QoS for the wireless data service from the target access node. The network determines a QoS offset based on a QoS difference between the source QoS and the target QoS. To handover a User Equipment (UE), the network receives source signal strength for the source access node and target signal strength for the target access node from the UE. In response, the network selects the target access node for the handover based on the QoS offset and a signal strength difference between the source signal strength and the target signal strength. The network signals the UE and the target access node to handover the UE to the target access node.

Wireless user device handovers based on quality-of-service

Methods, media, and systems are provided for supporting non-blind scheduling of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) control channel element (CCE) aggregation level (AL) for a common search space (CSS). In aspects, one or more signals corresponding to a device are received. Additionally, a request for a random-access channel response is received from the device. In addition, a radio frequency condition for the device is determined based on the one or more signals. Upon receiving the request and based on the radio frequency condition, an assigned physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble group is broadcast to the device via a broadcasting message, the PRACH preamble group corresponding to the CSS and also for scheduling the PDCCH CCE AL.

Non-blind scheduling of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) control channel element (CCE) aggregation level (AL) for common search space (CSS)

Methods, media, and systems are provided for carrier aggregation grouping based on user device location. For example, the methods, media, and systems receive one or more Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) beam reports from one or more user devices. Further, a base station divides a coverage area associated with a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) service into carrier aggregation (CA) groups associated with one or more component carriers. Upon receiving or determining the location of the one or more user devices associated with each of the one or more SSB beam reports, the one or more component carriers are assigned to at least one of the CA groups based on the location of the one or more user devices and the SSB beam reports. Furthermore, if interference from a neighboring base station is detected, the one or more component carriers experiencing the interference is grouped differently from the interfering carriers.

In response to determining that one or more transmission blocking conditions have been met, a master node communicates an instruction to the secondary node via a data connection cable or an X2 logical interface to not transmit downlink signals, reducing overall power network power consumption and inter-nodal inference when ENDC resources are not required.

A method and system for a base station (BS) configured for sharing among a plurality of public land mobile networks (PLMNs), and for providing open radio access and/or closed subscriber group (CSG) radio access for user equipment devices (UEs) served. The BS may make a determination of which PLMNs have enabled CSG and which have not, and may transmit a request to a core network of each PLMN to set up an interface connection with each. Based on the determination, the request may either include information for configuring CSG radio access, or information for configuring only open radio access. For each PLMN having CSG enabled, the interface connection may be established for CSG radio access for UEs associated with PLMNs having CSG enabled. For each PLMN not having CSG enabled, the interface connection may be established for only open radio access for UEs associated with PLMNs without CSG enabled.
