A washing machine includes a drum; a discharging duct communicating with the drum, and discharging inner air of the drum; a supplying duct communicating with the drum, and supplying external air into the drum to make a flow direction of the external air pass across that of the inner air; and a heat exchanger connected to the discharging and supplying ducts, in which a first air flow path which passes therethrough the inner air discharged outward through the discharging duct and a second air flow path which passes therethrough the external air supplied into the drum through the supplying duct cross each other. The washing machine may also include a humidity regulating part which reduces the humidity of the inner air as it is discharged. Thus, the washing machine improves efficiency of heat exchange between the inner air and the external air through the heat exchanger.

A drum-type washing machine including a rotatable pulsator. The drum-type washing machine includes a water tub to contain water therein. A rotary drum is included in the water tub and rotating in alternating directions to hold laundry located in the rotary drum to be washed. A pulsator is rotatably mounted to a predetermined position of the rotary drum. A rotation guide unit rotates the pulsator by a rotating force of the rotary drum. The pulsator mounted to the rotary drum increases a physical force applied to laundry, thus enhancing a washing effect.

A washing machine includes a drum and a condensing duct connected with the drum. The condensing duct includes an air inlet, an air outlet and a condensing unit. Disclosed is a method and apparatus for controlling current in a switched reluctance motor (SRM), in which after measuring the rotating speed of the SRM and determining whether the motor is decelerated or accelerated, current signals each having a waveform suitable to the acceleration/deceleration and the rotating speed of the motor are read from a current waveform table of a memory and then transmitted, and the current signals are controlled and then transmitted to motor coils of each phase, thereby driving the motor.
