An X-ray imaging apparatus includes an X-ray generator configured to emit X-rays to a subject; an X-ray detection panel including a plurality of light receiving elements each configured to receive X-rays that have passed through the subject, convert the X-rays into an electric signal, and output the electric signal, and a plurality of capacitor modules respectively corresponding to the plurality of light receiving elements, each of the plurality of capacitor modules including a plurality of capacitors connected to a corresponding one of the light receiving elements and configured to store the electric signal output from the corresponding light receiving element in at least one capacitor of the plurality of capacitors; and an image processor configured to read out the electric signal stored in the at least one capacitor of each of the plurality of capacitor modules to generate at least one X-ray image.

X-ray detection panel, X-ray imaging apparatus, and X-ray image generation method

A voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) in a frequency synthesizer generates an output signal having a target frequency by being coarse tuned in accordance with a channel code derived through a binary tree search. Thereafter, the output signal of the VCO may be further tuned using a phase lock loop (PLL) circuit. Each stage of the binary tree search includes a comparison step that determines a channel code bit, and another step that confirms that the channel code converges to a final channel code within an established stage range value.

Frequency synthesizer and method controlling frequency synthesizer

A method and a supply modulator (SM) are provided for supplying power from a wireless transmitter to a radio frequency (RF) power amplifier. A power control signal input from a modem is received. A reference voltage is determined. An operating mode of the SM is changed by controlling a level of the reference voltage. A voltage is determined based on the level of a reference voltage. When the operating mode of the SM is an ET mode, a first output signal from a linear regulator and a second output signal from a switching regulator are combined to obtain a combined result, and the combined result is output. The first output signal is based on the voltage. When the operating mode of the SM is an APT mode, the voltage based on the reference voltage is output.

Method and apparatus for supplying power to a radio frequency power amplifier

An electronic device for synthesizing a frequency is provided. The electronic device includes a bank changer configured to output a channel code corresponding to a reference frequency signal and a feedback frequency signal, a channel code mapper configured to generate a changed channel code by applying an offset to the channel code output from the bank changer, and a voltage controlled oscillator configured to control a total capacitance of a plurality of capacitors based on the changed channel code and to oscillate a frequency dependent on the total capacitance.

Method for synthesizing frequency and electronic device thereof

An electronic device for compensating for process variation is provided. The electronic device includes a first circuit configured to consume a current supplied to the first circuit, and a second circuit configured to control the current supplied to the first circuit, The second circuit is configured to generate a signal for controlling the current supplied to the circuit based on a frequency of a pulse signal generated using a second component that is of a same kind as a first component of the first circuit.

Photon counting detector to generate high-resolution images and high-contrast images, and photon counting and detecting method using the same

An apparatus for distinguishing an energy band of a photon in a readout circuit that counts photons in multi-energy radiation incident onto a sensor for each energy band includes an integrator configured to accumulate an electric signal received from the sensor that has undergone photoelectric conversion from the photon; a comparator configured to compare an accumulated electric signal received from the integrator with one of a plurality of threshold values; and a signal processor configured to instruct sequential switching from one of the plurality of threshold values to another one of the plurality of threshold values according to a result of a comparison received from the comparator; and output a digital signal that distinguishes an energy band of the photon based on results received from the comparator of sequential comparisons of the accumulated electric signal with the plurality of threshold values.

Apparatus and method for distinguishing energy bands of photons in multi-energy radiation

A depth sensing apparatus is provided. The depth sensing apparatus may reset, to a reference voltage value, a voltage of each of a first floating diffusion node and a second floating diffusion node of a sensor pixel for a first time period. For a second time period, the depth sensing apparatus may control the first floating diffusion node to store a voltage of a photodiode in a first phase interval, and may control the second floating diffusion node to store the voltage of the photodiode in a second phase interval. The depth sensing apparatus may calculate a difference between the voltage of the first floating diffusion node and the voltage of the second floating diffusion node for a third time period.

According to example embodiments, an image sensor includes a charge sensing amplifier configured to amplify charges sensed by a sensing unit. The charge sensing amplifier includes an input terminal, an amplification terminal, an output terminal, a first capacitor connected between the input terminal and the amplification terminal, a first switch connected between the input terminal and the amplification terminal, a second capacitor connected between the amplification terminal and the output terminal, and a second switch connected between the output terminal and a reference voltage terminal.

The switching circuit configured to close and open a connection between a first terminal and a second terminal of a predetermined circuit element, includes: a first transistor comprising a source connected to the first terminal, a drain connected to the second terminal, and a gate; a second transistor comprising a drain, a source, and a gate connected to the drain of the second transistor; a current source configured to supply a current flowing through the drain and the source of the second transistor, to generate a gate voltage of the gate of the second transistor; and a multiplexer configured to receive the gate voltage, a reference voltage, and a control signal, and selectively apply the gate voltage or the reference voltage to the gate of the first transistor based on the control signal.

Provided is an analog-to-digital (A/D) converter that may be used in an image sensor and a ramp signal generator that is used in an A/D converter. The ramp signal generator may generate a ramp signal and a reference voltage signal that include noise that has same noise characteristics that are input into the ramp signal, such that the signal to noise ratio (SNR) is improved and the image quality is also improved.
