The present invention relates to a picture frame type indoor unit of an air conditioner for mounting a photograph or a picture on a wall. The indoor unit of an air conditioner includes a cabinet (), a picture frame panel () mounted in front of the cabinet (), and a link mechanism () hinged both on the cabinet () and the picture frame panel (), thereby permitting convenient working in inside inspection or repair of the indoor unit even if the picture frame panel () is not dismounted from the cabinet () completely.

Disclosed is a filter unit for an air conditioner, which is provided at an indoor unit for the air conditioner so as to purify the air discharged to a room. The filter unit includes a filter for purifying air, a filter case accommodated in the filter and having a filter gate at a side thereof for placing/withdrawing the filter, and a cover for opening/closing the filter gate.
