A cleaning robot includes a navigator to move a main body, a remote controller to output a modulated infrared ray in accordance with a control command of a user and to form a light spot, a light receiver to receive the infrared ray from the remote controller, and a controller to control the navigator such that the main body tracks the light spot when the modulated infrared ray is received in accordance with the control command. Because the cleaning robot tracks a position indicated by the remote controller, a user may conveniently move the cleaning robot.

An autonomous cleaner includes a body having a first housing formed at a front and a second housing formed at a rear of the first housing; a brush unit installed at the first housing and configured to sweep and collect dust from a floor; a dust collecting unit installed at the second housing and configured to store the dust inlet into the brush unit; a driving unit to drive the body and coupled to the second housing to be positioned at a lateral side of the dust collecting unit; and a power unit installed at the second housing and coupled to be positioned at a rear of the dust collecting unit. The cleaner includes a brush module comprising a brush configured to scatter foreign substances on a floor, and a brush motor configured to rotate the brush. The cleaner includes a suction module configured to suction the foreign substances; a sensor configured to detect a load applied to the brush; and a controller configured to control suction force of the suction module based on the load detected by the sensor.

Cleaning robot and controlling method therefor

A robot cleaner and a method for controlling the same are disclosed, which perform efficient cleaning by controlling a suction force or traveling route of the robot cleaner. The robot cleaner detects load applied to wheels of the robot cleaner so as to increase reliability and accuracy in floor state decision, thereby recognizing a floor state. The robot cleaner recognizes a floor state by combining load applied to wheels of the robot cleaner, load applied to brushes, and acceleration information of the robot cleaner with one another in a complementary manner, thereby increasing accuracy in floor state decision. The robot cleaner includes a traveling portion configured to include a traveling wheel to move a main body, and a wheel motor to provide the traveling wheel with drive power, a cleaning portion configured to include a brush module formed at a lower part of the main body to scatter dust or foreign substances accumulated on a floor on which the main body travels, and a suction module to suction the scattered dust or foreign substances, and a controller configured to determine a state of the floor, and control a suction force of the suction module and a traveling route of the main body according to the determined floor state.

A sensor module and a robot cleaner including the sensor module may provide accurate sensing of an obstacle and prevent an erroneous sensing of an obstacle. The robot cleaner may include a body including a cleaning unit to remove foreign substances from a surface of a floor, a cover to cover an upper portion of the body, a sensor module including an obstacle sensor mounted to sense an obstacle, and a sensor window provided at one side of the sensor module. The sensor module may include a light emitting device to emit light through the sensor window, a light receiving reflector on which light reflected from the obstacle is incident, and a light shielding portion interposed between the light emitting device and the light receiving reflector to block the light emitted from the light emitting device from being incident upon the light receiving reflector.

The present disclosure includes a main body, a cleaning tool assembly connected to the main body to be movable in at least one axial direction, a handle part connected to the main body and configured to receive an applied force of a user, a detection part provided in the handle part and configured to detect a magnitude and a direction of the force applied to the handle part, and a control part configured to control the movement direction of the cleaning tool assembly based on the detected direction of the force and to control the movement distance of the cleaning tool assembly based on the detected magnitude of the force. In this way, the steering performance may be improved by reducing a horizontal load felt by a user when the user holds and moves the handle of the cleaner, fatigue felt when performing the cleaning operation may be removed by removing a vertical load applied by the handle, and convenience may be improved.

Cleaner and method for controlling cleaner

Provided is a cleaning robot including a main body; a driving unit configured to move the main body; a communication unit configured to establish wireless communication with a user terminal to which a manipulation command is input; and a controller configured to transmit a position detecting signal to the user terminal, and detect a position of the user terminal based on a time difference between the position detecting signal and a response signal transmitted from the user terminal.

Disclosed herein is a cleaning robot including a body; a display unit configured to display information related to various operations of the cleaning robot; a dust collecting box separably coupled with the body to collect dust introduced through a dust suction port; an air cleaning box to replace the dust collecting box and installed at the body to purify air introduced into the body and then discharge the purified air; and a control unit configured to recognize whether a box installed at the body is the dust collecting box or the air cleaning box, and to control the cleaning robot to perform a cleaning mode or an air cleaning mode according to a recognized result.

A robot cleaner includes a body to travel on a floor; an obstacle sensing unit to sense an obstacle approaching the body; an auxiliary cleaning unit mounted to a bottom of the body, to be extendable and retractable; and a control unit to control extension or retraction of the auxiliary cleaning unit when the obstacle is sensed. The control unit prevents the auxiliary cleaning unit from extending if a signal is received from a charger.

The present disclosure discloses a mobile device, cleaning robot, and method for controlling the cleaning robot. The mobile device includes a capturing unit; a display for displaying an image of a cleaning robot obtained from the capturing unit and receiving a touch; and a controller for controlling the cleaning robot to move to a location that corresponds to the input touch.
