A voice mailbox management method in a voice mail system through a mutual notification function, between a user mobile telecommunications terminal and a voice mail server, using an extended short message service is provided. According to the voice mailbox management method, when a state change occurs in the voice mailbox of the voice mail server and the voice mailbox of the user mobile telecommunications terminal, a short message indicating the state change is sent to each other, and according to the received short message, the state of the voice mailbox in the voice mail server or the user mobile telecommunications terminal is modified, which enables to keep coherence in identical information in both voice mailboxes of the voice mail server and the user mobile telecommunications terminal.

A device for data communications between a Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) terminal and a WAP server, and a data communication method thereof. The data communications device includes: a plurality of WAP terminals each having a protocol stack in which a Circuit Switch Data service (CSD) protocol layer is laid under a Wireless Transaction Protocol (WTP) layer and a Wireless Datagram Protocol (WDP) layer, for generating WAP data which is service request data; a plurality of WAP servers each having a protocol stack in which a Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) layer and an Internet Protocol (IP) layer are laid under a WTP layer and a WDP layer, for providing the WAP terminals with WAP server data according to the WAP data; and an interworking function (IWF) unit having a CSD protocol layer connected to the CSD protocol layers of each WAP terminal, and a TCP layer and an IP layer which are connected to the TCP and IP layers of each WAP server, for mapping the WAP terminals to the corresponding WAP servers, wherein each WAP terminal communicates with the IWF unit though a single Internet Protocol/Peer-to-Peer Protocol (IP/PPP) layer included in its own CSD protocol layer, and the IWF unit communicates through the Internet with each WAP server. Because there is no redundancy of IP/PPP protocol layers in the WAP terminal, overhead is considerably reduced. Also, the IWF unit is directly connected through the Internet to the WAP server, not through the PSTN and the ISP, so that connection time and costs can be reduced.

A method for protecting data stored in a lost mobile terminal and a recording medium for storing the data are provided. In the method, a user who has lost the mobile terminal transmits protection control information to the lost mobile terminal, using a communication apparatus. The lost mobile terminal receives and discriminates the protection control information. User identifying information, which is included in the protection control information, is compared with information which is previously stored in the lost mobile terminal. When the user identifying information is identical to the information previously stored in the lost mobile terminal, the data which is stored in the lost mobile terminal is processed according to the user's data protection request which is included in the protection control information.

Then, PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol)/TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is performed in the IWF device according to the identifier, and a network interface channel is then opened by an AT (ATtention) processing unit of the IWF device according to the IP address of the identifier. Therefore, the mobile terminal can be connected directly to a network interface which is an Internet connect port, using a CSD channel which is preferred by network service providers, not using a modem.

A system and method for pursuing a missing cellular telephone are provided. The cellular telephone analyzes a control signal received from a mobile communication network. If the analyzed control signal corresponds to a missing mode setting signal, the cellular telephone enters a missing mode and transmits a position signal representing the current location at regular intervals. In the meantime, upon receipt of a missing mode release signal from the mobile communication network, the cellular telephone releases the missing mode.
