A display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate disposed on the first substrate, an image display layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, a gate driver disposed at a first side surface of the first substrate, a data driver disposed at a second side surface of the first substrate, and conductive layers respectively disposed in recesses recessed from the first side surface of the first substrate. The gate driver is electrically connected to the conductive layers.

Display device, manufacturing method thereof, and multi-display device

A method of manufacturing a curved liquid crystal display is provided. The method includes forming a first display panel including a plurality of first patterns, forming a second display panel including a plurality of second patterns, assembling the first display panel and the second display panel, filling a liquid crystal between the assembled first and second display panels to form a flat liquid crystal display, and curving the flat liquid crystal display in a first direction to form the curved liquid crystal display. The first patterns and the second patterns are mismatched in the flat liquid crystal display, and the first patterns and the second patterns are matched in the curved liquid crystal display.

Curved liquid crystal display device and method of manufacturing the same

A curved liquid crystal display includes a first panel having a pixel electrode including crossed stem parts, a plurality of fine branch parts extending from the crossed stem parts, and fine slits positioned between fine branch parts adjacent to each other, a second panel having a common electrode, and a liquid crystal layer between the first panel and the second panel. Misalignment between the first panel and the second lower panel is determined and a pitch, which is a sum of a width of the fine branch part and a width of the fine slit, gradually increases from a region having a small misalignment toward a region having a large misalignment.

Curved liquid crystal display

Embodiments relate to a liquid crystal display and a manufacturing method thereof, and more particularly, to a liquid crystal display including an alignment layer pattern and a manufacturing method thereof. The liquid crystal display includes a lower panel including a first alignment layer and a signal line. An upper panel faces the lower panel and uncovers an end portion of the signal line of the lower panel. A sealant is positioned between the lower panel and the upper panel and couples the lower panel and the upper panel with each other. The first alignment layer includes a first portion and a second portion that are separated from each other in a first direction, and the sealant is disposed between the first portion and the second portion and separated from the first portion and the second portion in the first direction.

A liquid crystal display according to an exemplary embodiment includes a display substrate including a display area for displaying an image and a non-display area enclosing the display area; a plurality of normal pixels formed in an edge region among a center region of the display area and a peripheral area of the display area, and a plurality of corner pixels formed in a corner region of the peripheral area of the display area; and a sealant formed in the non-display area. A corner pixel of the plurality of corner pixels and the sealant are separated from each other.

A display device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a flexible first substrate including a display area, and a non-display area around the display area, a first piezoelectric material layer&#x2014;at one side of the first substrate, an intermediate electrode layer contacting the first piezoelectric material layer, a piezoelectric material layer driver coupled to the intermediate electrode layer, and configured to apply a driving voltage to the intermediate electrode layer to form an electric field at the first piezoelectric material layer, a thin film transistor at one side of the first substrate, and a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor.

Curved display device

A liquid crystal display according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a first substrate; a gate line formed on the first substrate and extended in a first direction; a data line extended in a second direction that is perpendicular to the gate line; switching elements connected to the gate line and the data line; a voltage-dividing reference voltage line connected to a switching element; a first sub-pixel electrode connected to a switching element; and a second sub-pixel electrode connected to a switching element, wherein the first sub-pixel electrode and the second sub-pixel electrode include one or more vertical stem parts formed on a left side or a right side thereof, and the voltage-dividing reference voltage line is formed to be parallel to the data line.

A liquid crystal display device includes a display panel including: a lower display substrate on which a plurality of pixel electrodes are disposed in a matrix and data lines extend in a column direction between adjacent pixel electrodes; an upper display substrate on which a common electrode is disposed; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the lower display substrate and the upper display substrate and including liquid crystal molecules. The display panel includes a plurality of unit pixels, each unit pixel including pixels having different colors, and each pixel including one of the pixel electrodes. A gap between neighboring unit pixels is larger than a gap between neighboring pixel electrodes within each unit pixel, and a data line positioned between the neighboring unit pixels has a portion having a width larger than that of a data line positioned between the neighboring pixel electrodes within each unit pixel.

An exemplary embodiment provides a curved display device in which occurrences of black mura are prevented or otherwise reduced. The curved display device according to the exemplary embodiment includes a curved display panel displaying images; a rear surface cover covering and supporting a rear surface of the curved display panel; and a flexible front surface chassis supporting the curved display panel.

A display device may include these elements: a first data line; a second data line; a first subpixel electrode positioned at a first half of the display device, connected to the first data line, and comprising a first member and a second member, the first member extending parallel to the first data line, the second member connecting directly to and extending perpendicular to the first member; and a second subpixel electrode positioned at a second half of the display device, connected to the second data line, and comprising a third member and a fourth member, the third member extending parallel to the second data line, the fourth member connecting directly to and extending perpendicular to the third member, wherein the second member and the fourth member are aligned and are positioned between the first member and the third member in a layout view of the display device.

A display panel includes a base substrate, a driving circuit, and a roof layer defining a cavity. A color filter is disposed on the base substrate to at least partially cover the driving circuit. The color filter is disposed at least on a pixel area and includes a depression positioned at least partially within a circuit area. A black matrix is disposed upon the depression of the color filter. The black matrix being upon the depression allows an inlet portion of the cavity to remain greater than a certain cross-sectional area.

A display device includes a transistor, a data line, a pixel electrode, a common electrode, and a liquid crystal layer. The data line is connected to a source electrode of the transistor. A geometric radius of curvature associated with the display device is perpendicular to the data line. The pixel electrode is connected to a drain electrode of the transistor and includes a plate electrode. Sides of the plate electrode are oriented at acute angles with respect to the data line in a plan view associated with the display device. The common electrode overlaps the pixel electrode and has a slit. The slit has a first edge and a second edge. The first edge is perpendicular to the data line in the plan view and is longer than the second edge. The liquid crystal layer is positioned between the pixel electrode and the common electrode.
