A display device includes a circuit layer including emission pixel drivers, and data lines transferring data signals of the emission pixel drivers; a data driver generating the data signals of the emission pixel drivers; and a demultiplexer circuit electrically connected between the data driver and the data lines and including a first demultiplexer transistor turned on by a first demultiplexer control signal and a second demultiplexer transistor turned on by a second demultiplexer control signal. A first data line of the data lines is electrically connected to the data driver through the first demultiplexer transistor and a transfer path shorter than a first extension length. A second data line of the data lines is electrically connected to the data driver through the second demultiplexer transistor and a transfer path longer than or equal to the first extension length.

Display apparatus

A 3D image display includes a display panel operated in 2D and 3D driving modes and a barrier panel turned off in the 2D driving mode and turned on in the 3D driving mode to separate an image output from the display panel to left and right-eye images. The barrier panel includes a reference electrode, first barrier electrodes arranged in a first direction, second barrier electrodes alternately arranged with the first barrier electrodes along the first direction, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the reference electrode and the first and second barrier electrodes. Each first barrier electrode includes first electrode pieces arranged in a zigzag fashion along a second direction different from the first direction, and each second barrier electrode includes second electrode pieces arranged in the zigzag fashion.

A 3-dimensional image display device and a driving method thereof, the method including using a first array of a matrix of unit pixels to form an image while a remaining array of the unit pixels displays black, and forming openings in a barrier panel to expose the unit pixels of the first array, the width of the openings ranging from 1.5 to 2 times the width of the exposed unit pixels.

A display apparatus includes a display panel that displays a second image in a 3D mode, a barrier panel that forms a barrier pattern that separates the second image into a left-eye image and a right-eye image, a touch sensing part that includes third electrodes capacitively coupled to a portion of the electrodes included in the barrier panel, and a coordinate calculator. The coordinate calculator measures a variation of capacitance between the portion of the electrodes included in the barrier panel and the third electrodes.

In a 3D image display apparatus, a display unit includes a plurality of pixels and alternately displays a left-eye image in a first group of the pixels and a right-eye image in a second group of the pixels along a first direction, a barrier unit includes a light blocking portion blocking light received from the display unit and a light transmitting portion transmitting the light received from the display unit, and the light blocking portion and the light transmitting portion are alternately arranged in the first direction. A position information extraction unit determines the distance between the display unit and a viewer watching the display unit, and a control unit controls the display unit and the barrier unit in accordance with the distance information to allow the display unit and the barrier unit to be operated in a first mode or a second mode. Thus, a distance range in which the viewer perceives the 3D image increases.

Three-dimensional display apparatus

A 3D image display device including a position detector, a display panel, a barrier panel, and a barrier panel controller. The position detector detects a position of a viewer and generates a selection signal. The display panel includes a plurality of pixels and alternately displays a left-eye image and a right-eye image. The barrier panel includes a light transmitting portion and a light blocking portion. The barrier panel controller controls a width of each of the light transmitting portion and the light blocking portion. The barrier panel is operated in one of a first mode, a second mode, and a third mode.

A driving method of a display device includes: a display panel having a plurality of first blocks, a data driver applying data voltages to pixels of the plurality of first blocks, and a backlight having a plurality of second blocks respectively corresponding to the plurality of first blocks of the display panel, applying the data voltages to the pixels of the plurality of the first blocks during a plurality of data input periods corresponding to the plurality of the first blocks for one frame by the data driver, and a vertical blank period having no applied date voltage is positioned between the plurality of data input periods.
