A direct liquid feed fuel cell system that includes a housing, a fuel cell stack in which air flow channels are formed, in the housing; and a fan that supplies air between the housing and a part of the air flow channels, wherein the fuel cell stack is obliquely mounted toward the fan. The fuel cell system can be arranged so that the airflow channels are substantially vertical, in order for air to be supplied between the housing and an upper part of the airflow channels, with the fuel cell stack downwardly obliquely mounted toward the fan. Furthermore, an outlet in the housing on an opposite side of the fuel cell stack from the fan can allow air that has passed through the air flow channels to be exhausted from the fuel cell system after passing through a space between a part of the fuel cell stack and the housing.

A direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) comprising: a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) including an anode, a cathode, and a membrane disposed therebetween; a spacer surrounding the anode, having supply holes to supply methanol to the anode; and a flow control member to control the supply of the methanol. Provided are a method of preparing a fuel cell and a membrane electrode assembly prepared by the method. The method includes preparing a substrate, forming a buffer layer having a single crystalline structure on the substrate, forming a proton conducting solid perovskite electrolyte membrane on the buffer layer, forming a first electrode on one surface of the proton conducting solid perovskite electrolyte membrane, etching the substrate, and forming a second electrode on the opposite surface of the one surface of the electrolyte membrane. Thus, the method of preparing a fuel cell can improve ion conductivity of an electrolyte membrane at a low temperature and a membrane electrode assembly of a fuel cell prepared by the method can improve ion conductivity at a low temperature.

A liquid-gas separator for a direct liquid feed fuel cell includes a tube having an opening portion at a sidewall thereof; liquid extracting members that selectively transmit the liquid in the tube and located at both ends of the tube; a gas extracting membrane that selectively transmits the gas and covers the opening portion; an inlet that guides the liquid and the gas into the tube; chambers that surround an outer side of the liquid extracting member; and outlets that guide the liquid in the chambers to the outside by being connected to the chamber.

A liquid-gas separator for a direct liquid feed fuel cell includes: a housing having an open hole; a gas extracting membrane that covers the open hole and transmits only the gas; a liquid extracting member that defines a first chamber that contacts the gas extracting membrane and a second chamber that does not contact the gas extracting membrane, and selectively transmits the liquid in the first chamber to the second chamber; an inlet that guides the liquid and the gas into the housing; and an outlet that is connected to the second chamber and guides the liquid in the second chamber to the outside.

A direct liquid feed fuel cell stack has a structure in which membrane electrode arrays (MEAs), each having an anode electrode and a cathode electrode on either side of an electrode membrane, are stacked and a conductive anode plate and a conductive cathode plate are respectively formed to face the anode electrode and the cathode electrode, wherein the cathode plate comprises a plurality of straight flow channels in parallel, and a hydrophilic member, whose upper surface has the same plane as a bottom surface of the straight flow channel, is disposed perpendicular to the flow channels on one end of the cathode plate.
