Methods and apparatus for sharing digital-to-analog (DAC) converters in a reconfigurable DAC circuit to support two or more transmit chains of a wireless transmitter configured for different radio access technologies (RATs) and/or different transmitter architectures. One example DAC circuit generally includes at least four DACs and a plurality of switches coupled to outputs of the at least four DACs such that the DAC circuit is configured as a multi-channel DAC circuit with at least four channels for a first set of one or more frequency bands and as an interleaved DAC circuit with at least two channels for a second set of one or more frequency bands different from the first set of frequency bands.

Reconfigurable transmit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) circuit

An antenna is provided that includes a dielectric-filled cavity having a bottom surface, a top surface, and a rectangular perimeter. A round metal layer faces the bottom surface whereas a resonator metal layer faces the top surface. A plurality of metallic vias is arranged about the rectangular perimeter to couple a perimeter of resonator layer to the ground layer. An opening divides the resonator layer into a first pair of resonators and into a second pair of resonators. Within each pair of resonators, one resonator is configured for operation according to a first linear polarization whereas a second resonator is configured for operation according to a second linear polarization that is orthogonal to the first linear polarization.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication and testing. In some aspects, a device may receive information identifying a mount orientation of a wireless communication device, wherein the mount orientation indicates an orientation of a coordinate system of the wireless communication device relative to a coordinate system of a positioner. The device may capture measurement information at each position of a set of positions of the wireless communication device, wherein the set of positions comprises positions of the wireless communication device as the wireless communication device is rotated around an axis by the positioner, and wherein the measurement information is captured based at least in part on the mount orientation. The device may provide information identifying the measurement information. Some techniques and apparatuses described herein may use the measurement information to generate a codebook for beam generation. Numerous other aspects are provided.

An integrated millimeter wave antenna module may include at least one antenna array connected to a wiring board with a flexible printed circuit without any additional connectors. The integrated module may include an antenna, a flexible printed circuit attached to the antenna on one end and a wiring board on the other end.

In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be configured to determine a PSD based on a transmission power associated with transmission of an uplink signal. The apparatus may be configured to select one of a first beam or a second beam for the transmission of the uplink signal based on the PSD. The second beam may be wider than the first beam, and may be generated by a single antenna element of the apparatus. The apparatus may be configured to transmit the uplink signal using the selected one of the first beam or the second beam.

System and method for controlling beam type in signal transmission

Disclosed is a sheet resistor designed to operate in a high frequency environment. Unlike conventional sheet resistors, the equivalent series inductance (ESL) is minimized or even eliminated altogether when using the designed sheet resistor. As a result, better signal isolation can be achieved.

Multi-line interface for board and substrate

Devices and methods for detection of active return loss for an antenna element of a plurality of antenna elements of a phased array antenna are provided. An exemplary device can convert a voltage differential at an input of a power amplifier (PA) to first current. The device can convert a coupled voltage corresponding to a signal transmitted from the PA to a respective antenna element, to a second current. The device can convert a reflected voltage corresponding to a signal reflected from the respective antenna element, to a third current. The device can convert the first current, the second current, and the third current to an output voltage at a generator output. The device can further have a controller that can adaptively generate codebooks for transmission based on the output voltage.

System and method for active S11 detection in phased array transceivers

Disclosed is an antenna on glass (AOG) device having an air cavity at least partially formed in a photosensitive glass substrate. An air cavity structure is at least partially encloses the air cavity and wherein the air cavity structure at least partially formed from the photosensitive glass substrate. An antenna is formed from portion of a top conductive layer disposed on a top surface of the air cavity structure and at least partially overlapping the air cavity. A metallization structure is provided having a bottom conductive layer disposed on a bottom surface of the air cavity structure, wherein the bottom conductive layer is electrically coupled to the top metal layer by a conductive pillar disposed through the photosensitive glass substrate. In addition, the AOG device may integrate one or more MIM capacitors and/or inductors that allow for RF filtering and impedance matching.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for training a digital pre-distorter (DPD) using real-time over-the-air transmissions and receptions by a user equipment (UE). A method for training the DPD generally includes transmitting a signal, generated by a transmitter front end, via a first port; sampling the signal, received over the air, at a second port; performing signal processing cleaning (e.g., synchronization, linear over-the-air channel estimation and equalization); calculating coefficients for a DPD; and configuring the DPD with the coefficients, for use in digitally pre-distorting sub sequent transmissions.

Interface connector for supporting millimeter wave wireless communications

An apparatus is disclosed for range-based transmission parameter adjustment. In an example aspect, the apparatus includes a first antenna, a second antenna, and a wireless transceiver. The wireless transceiver is coupled to the first antenna and the second antenna. The wireless transceiver is configured to transmit a proximity detection signal via the first antenna. The wireless transceiver is also configured to receive a reflected proximity detection signal via the second antenna. The reflected proximity detection signal including a portion of the proximity detection signal that is reflected by an object. The wireless transceiver is additionally configured to adjust a transmission parameter based on the reflected proximity detection signal. The transmission parameter varies according to a range to the object. The wireless transceiver is further configured to transmit an uplink signal using the transmission parameter.
