The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for controlling power to a Universal Serial Bus (USB) device. The present invention provides an apparatus for controlling power to a USB device, the USB device being used to connect a Personal Computer (PC) with a peripheral device, the power control apparatus including a plug-in port for connecting the peripheral device with the PC, a state detector for detecting whether the peripheral device is in a preparation completion state, a power supply unit for supplying power to the USB device, and a power control unit for controlling the power supply unit so that power is supplied to the USB device if it is determined that the peripheral device is in a plugged-in state, and if it is determined that the peripheral device is in a preparation completion state by the state detector. Accordingly, the present invention performs the supply of power only when the peripheral device is plugged into the USB device and its internal application program is in a preparation completion state, so that it can prevent power from being unnecessarily consumed.

Appparatus and method for controlling power to USB device

A speaker apparatus includes a speaker, and a circuit to operate the speaker. The speaker apparatus further includes a speaker box having an opening to enclose a back of the speaker; a casing accommodating the speaker box combined with the speaker and the circuit therein, and communicating with an outside so as to dissipate heat from the circuit; and a duct penetrating the casing and the speaker box so as to emit back sound of the speaker. The present invention provides a speaker apparatus, which has high heat-dissipating efficiency, can be manufactured in various designs, and prevents a user from being burned.

A display supporting apparatus includes an upper engaging part mounted on a ceiling, a swivel adjusting part rotatably combined with bottom of the upper engaging part, a flange member combined with the upper engaging part to support the swivel adjusting part, a first engaging pipe extended downward from the swivel adjusting part, and a display mounting part combined with a bottom of the first engaging pipe to mount a display thereon. Accordingly, the present invention includes a display supporting apparatus to support a large-sized display in a stable manner without a separate casing for the display, and further provides swiveling, tilting and height adjustment of a display with the use of engaging pipes.

A stand for a display having a base, a supporting case mounted on the base, a supporting member mounted inside the supporting case and having an end seated on the base to support the weight of the display, and a mounting bracket engaged with the the other end of the supporting member, to mount the display. This stand supports the weight of a large-sized display and allows a user to swivel the display around an axis of the supporting member, and change the distance between the base and the display.

An electronic appliance with a construction capable of maintaining a desired contact space between the control switch of its control circuit board coupled between first and second cases mating with each other and the control shaft of its control knob. A plurality of elastic members are provided at the second case to apply a resilience force generated therefrom to the control circuit board when they receive a force applied to the first case upon assembling the first case with the second case via the control circuit board, so that the control circuit board can move toward the first case in such a manner that an accurate contact space is maintained between the control knob fixedly mounted to the first case and the control switches of the control circuit board. Accordingly, an improvement in productivity and reliance is achieved.
