Provided is an electrocatalyst for anion exchange membrane water electrolysis, including a carbonaceous material, and nickel electrodeposited on the carbonaceous material, wherein nickel is partially substituted with platinum and the substitution with platinum provides increased hydrogen evolution activity as compared to the same electrocatalyst before substitution with platinum. Also provided are a method for preparing the electrocatalyst and an anion exchange membrane water electrolyzer using the same. The nickel electrocatalyst coated with an ultralow loading amount of platinum for anion exchange membrane water electrolysis shows excellent hydrogen evolution activity and has a small thickness of catalyst, thereby providing high mass transfer and high catalyst availability. In addition, the electrocatalyst uses a particle-type electrode to facilitate emission of hydrogen bubbles generated during hydrogen evolution reaction and oxygen bubbles generated during oxygen evolution reaction, and requires low cost for preparation to provide high cost-efficiency.

The present disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for preparing nanosized metal or alloy nanoparticles by depositing metal or alloy nanoparticles with superior size uniformity on the surface of a powder as a base material by vacuum deposition and then dissolving or melting the base material using a solvent or heat. The method solves the problems of the existing expensive multi-step synthesis method based on chemical reduction and allows effective synthesis of metal or alloy nanoparticles with very uniform size and metal or alloy catalyst nanoparticles supported on carbon at low cost.

Process of preparing carbon-supported metal catalyst by physical deposition

An apparatus and method for manufacturing ultra-fine particles using an electrospray device is disclosed. One or more capillary provided at its tip with a nozzle is positioned within a guide duct and precursors such as metal organic materials and metal halogen compounds, or nonvolatile substances or volatile substances are supplied to the capillary. Voltages are applied to the capillary and the guide duct, respectively, so that a voltage difference is generated therebetween and the highly charged liquid droplets from the capillary are sprayed. The sprayed liquid droplets are carried along the guide duct together with carrier gas injected into the guide duct. When heat energy is applied to the liquid droplets, chemical reactions of the liquid droplets occur. A collecting plate positioned in front of the guide duct collects ultra-fine particles formed by the chemical reactions.

Apparatus for manufacturing ultra-fine particles using electrospray device and method thereof

A device for collecting dust using highly charged hyperfine liquid droplets formed through an electro-hydrodynamic atomization process is disclosed. In the dust collecting device of this invention, a high voltage is applied to capillaries, set within a dust guide duct and having nozzles at their tips. An electric field is thus formed between the capillaries and the duct, and allows the nozzles to spray highly charged hyperfine liquid droplets. Such liquid droplets absorb dust laden in air, flowing in the duct by suction force of a fan. An electrostatic dust collector is detachably coupled to the duct while being insulated from the duct, and forms an electric field having polarity opposite to that of the highly charged liquid droplets, thus electrostatically collecting and removing the dust absorbed by the highly charged liquid droplets. The dust collecting device of this invention easily and effectively removes fine dust having a size smaller than 0.1 cm. This device is also preferably operable at low cost while achieving a desired dust collection effect, and is collaterally advantageous in that it humidifies discharged air, when water is used as the liquid for atomization of the hyperfine liquid droplets.
