In one example, an adhesive dispensing assembly has a dispenser and an air supply assembly. The dispenser receives a liquid material therein and discharges the liquid material onto a substrate. The air supply assembly receives pressurized air therein and directs the pressurized air to the dispenser to cause discharging of the liquid material from the dispenser. The dispenser has a first coupler, and the air supply assembly has a second coupler that couples to the first coupler so as to positionally fix the dispenser and the air supply assembly to one another. At least one of the first and second couplers is formed from a thermally insulating material that thermally insulates the dispenser and the air supply assembly from one another when the first and second couplers are coupled to one another.

An air manifold for a material dispensing applicator is described. The air manifold has an inlet to receive pressurized air from a pressurized air source, a channel extending therethrough from the inlet, and a plurality of passages in fluid communication with the channel. The air manifold also includes a plurality of pneumatic bolts, where each of the plurality of pneumatic bolts is disposed in a respective one of the plurality of passages and attached to a respective one of the plurality of dispensing modules of the applicator. Each of the plurality of pneumatic bolts directs the pressurized air from the channel of the air manifold to the respective one of the plurality of dispensing modules.

Connector for a material dispensing assembly

A nozzle clamp includes a body defining a first surface and an opposing second surface. The nozzle includes an arm pivotally connected to the body and configured to move between first and second positions. The arm includes a bore therethrough and a protrusion that is configured to contact the nozzle. The nozzle includes a fastener movable within the bore of the arm and configured to contact the second surface of the body. The clamp is movable between a first configuration and a second configuration. When the clamp is in the first configuration, the fastener is in contact with the second surface of the body, and the arm is precluded from being rotated relative to the body. When the clamp is in the second configuration, the fastener is not in contact with the second surface, and the arm is permitted to be pivoted relative to the body.

A dispensing system receives liquid material and process air. The dispensing system includes a manifold body having a liquid material passage and a process air passage. The dispensing system includes a heating member received in the manifold body. The heating member has an upper portion, a lower portion, an outer surface, and a groove in the outer surface. The groove may extend between the upper portion and the lower portion and form at least a portion of the process air passage. The dispensing system may further include a nozzle configured to dispense the liquid material. The heating member may be configured to heat the process air as the process air passes through the groove and heat the liquid material through contact of the outer surface of the heating member with the manifold body.

A melter for heating and melting particulate hot melt adhesive into a liquefied form is disclosed. The melter includes a heated receiving device having an interior with an inlet configured to receive the particulate hot melt adhesive and an outlet. A flexible hopper holds a supply of the particulate hot melt adhesive and a particulate hot melt adhesive feed device allows the particulate hot melt adhesive to be directed from the flexible hopper to the inlet of the heated receiving device.

A cooled hot melt adhesive material storage system includes a bin and a cooling unit. The bin receives and holds a supply of hot melt adhesive pieces, and includes an outlet for communicating hot melt adhesive pieces to a melter device. The cooling unit is operatively coupled with the bin, and is configured for cooling hot melt adhesive pieces contained in the bin.
