The apparatus includes a lower separator reel from which a lower separator sheet is unwound, a first nozzle configured to apply an adhesive to at least a portion of one surface facing upward of the unwound lower separator sheet, an upper separator reel from which an upper separator sheet is unwound, a second nozzle configured to apply an adhesive to at least a portion of one surface facing upward of the unwound upper separator sheet, and a first nip roll configured to turn opposite surfaces of the upper separator sheet upside down so that the one surface of the upper separator sheet to which the adhesive has been applied is directed downward and adheres to an upper surface of a first electrode stably placed on the one surface of the lower separator sheet.

The ultrasonic welding device is configured to weld an overlapping surface of an electrode tab and an electrode lead in an electrode assembly. A horn is configured to apply ultrasonic waves to the overlapping surface of the electrode tab and the electrode lead while pressing the overlapping surface. The overlapping surface is disposed on the anvil. An electrode tab measuring part is configured to measure a thickness of the electrode tab disposed on the overlapping surface. A pressure adjusting device is configured to adjust a pressure applied to the overlapping surface by the anvil and the horn according to the thickness value of the electrode tab. An electrode assembly manufacturing apparatus includes an electrode sheet supply unit for supplying an electrode sheet on which electrode mixture coating and non-coating portions are formed, a cutting unit at the rear of the supply unit for forming an electrode tab at the electrode sheet, and a lamination unit at the rear of the supply unit and configured to laminate positive and negative electrodes stacked with a separator between them. A cutting unit die supports the electrode sheet and an ultrasonic cutter spaced from the die forms the tab. A cutting line of a cutting edge of the cutter corresponds to a periphery of a unit electrode in a tab forming direction. The cutting and lamination units are on the same line in a continuous process to reduce a necessary space for electrode assembly manufacture and prevent electrode sheet foil deformation and electrode mixture layer damage in the cut section.

Electrode assembly manufacturing apparatus including ultrasonic cutter and method using the same

The present technology relates to a method of inspecting a welding defect. The method includes: manufacturing an electrode assembly sample by welding an electrode lead on an electrode tab formed on an electrode assembly; measuring a tensile strength, a torsional strength and a peeling strength of a welded portion between the electrode tab and the electrode lead for the electrode assembly sample; deriving correlation between whether there is a welding defect and each of the tensile strength, the torsional strength, and the peeling strength; and deriving a reference value for determining whether there is a welding defect for the tensile strength, the torsional strength, and the peeling strength, respectively.

The present invention provides a sealing process for a secondary battery of the present invention, which thermally fuses and seals a sealing portion that extends along an edge surface of a battery case, the sealing process comprising: an arrangement operation of disposing the sealing portion of the battery case between an anvil and a horn; a first region-fixing operation of pressing and fixing a first region of the sealing portion through the anvil and the horn; and a first region-primary sealing operation of applying an ultrasonic wave to the first region of the sealing portion through the horn at a set frequency and a set amplitude for a set time, thereby thermally fusing the first region of the sealing portion.

According to an aspect of the present invention so at to achieve the above object, a method for manufacturing an electrode includes: a step of preparing a collector; a coating step of applying an electrode active material to one surface or both surfaces of the collector to manufacture an initial electrode; and a first cutting step of cutting the initial electrode coated with the electrode active material to manufacture a plurality of middle-stage electrodes, wherein, in the first cutting step, the initial electrode is cut so that at least one of the plurality of middle-stage electrodes has a length different from those of the other middle-stage electrodes.
