The present invention relates to a polypeptide derived from CAP1 and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the same as an effective ingredient and, more particularly, to a peptide including the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1, any 0 to 20 amino acid residues added to the N terminus thereof, and any 0 to 75 amino acid residues added to the C terminus thereof, and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the peptide as an effective ingredient for the prevention and alleviation of inflammatory diseases, the inhibition of cancer and cancer metastasis, the prevention and alleviation of diabetes, fatty hepatitis, arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular diseases, and heart failure. Exhibiting the effect of suppressing the binding of resistin to CAP1 and inhibiting NF-kB activity, the method of the present invention can be useful for treating inflammatory diseases, cancer, diabetes, fatty hepatitis, arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular diseases, and heart failure which are caused by the activation of resistin and NF-kB.

The present invention concerns a human resistin receptor. More particularly, the present invention provides a method for screening a receptor of human resistin protein, a method for preventing or treating an inflammatory disease and arteriosclerosis using an expression- or activity-regulator for a human resistin receptor, and a pharmaceutical composition including an expression- or activity-regulator for the human resistin receptor. The method for screening a human resistin protein receptor according to the present invention enables separation of a receptor which directly binds to resistin from human monocyte, reveals a mechanism of signal transduction of the resistin receptor, and therefore, is expected to contribute to regulation of an inflammatory effect of monocyte, molecular detection of causes for vascular inflammation and arteriosclerosis, and developments of prevention and a treating agent for an inflammatory disease and arteriosclerosis.

Display apparatus

A process and a set of equipment for reactivating spent activated carbon onto which pollutants were adsorbed. The present process comprises subjecting the activated carbon to be reactivated in a mixed solution consisting of ethanol, sodium hydroxide solution and water to effectuate the desorption of the pollutants adsorbed on the activated carbon. The equipment includes (A) a mixing tank for mixing given amounts of water, ethanol and sodium hydroxide solution which are supplied from the respective receptacles thereof; (B) a reactivation reactor for receiving the mixed solution from the mixing tank and subjecting the spent activated carbon filled therein to the mixed solution to effect the desorption of the pollutants adsorbed on the spent activated carbon, wherein the reactivation reactor includes a unit for regulating temperature of the mixed solution; and (C) a storage tank for receiving the reactivated carbon.
