An electronic device includes a display panel having first pads, a circuit board that includes second pads corresponding to the first pads, and a conductive adhesive member disposed between the display panel and the circuit board to connect the first pads and the second pads, in which the conductive adhesive member includes a first resin layer adjacent to the display panel, a second resin layer disposed between the first resin layer and the circuit board and having a curing agent different from that of the first resin layer, and conductive particles disposed in the first resin layer wherein at least one of the second pads protrudes through the second resin layer and is in contact with the conductive particles.

A light source package includes a first light source configured to emit first light, an imaginary central axis of the first light extending in a first direction. The light source package may further include a second light source configured to emit second light, an imaginary central axis of the second light extending in a second direction that is different from the first direction. The light source package may further include a first optical part including a first surface that is configured to reflect at least a first portion of the first light. The light source package may further include a second optical part configured to spread the second light. The light source package may advantageously enable illuminating a desirably large display area with a minimum number of light sources and/or optical parts.

A backlight driving circuit for a display apparatus includes a receiver, a signal modulation detector and a driver. The receiver receives a clock signal and a brightness data signal by a serial transmission and in response to an enable signal. The brightness data signal is synchronized with the clock signal and includes brightness information. The signal modulation detector detects a modulation of the brightness data signal, based on at least one of the clock signal and the enable signal, and outputs a control signal based on a detected result thereof. The driver receives the brightness data signal, in synchronization with the clock signal, selects one of the brightness data signal and a predetermined reference brightness data signal in response to the control signal, generates a driving voltage using the selected brightness data signal, and provides the driving voltage to the backlight unit to control the brightness of the backlight unit.

A backlight assembly includes a light guide plate having at least five sides. There is a first side. A second side is parallel to and equal in length to the first side. A third side is perpendicular to the first and second sides. A fourth side is parallel to and shorter in length than the third side. The backlight assembly additionally includes a light source unit disposed the fourth side and the oblique side of the light guide plate.

The light emitting diode package includes a light emitting diode including generating a light in response to a driving voltage applied from the outside, first and second main leads connected to first and second electrodes, respectively, and a body section provided therein with the light emitting diode and fixes the first and second main leads thereto. The light emitting diode package includes a first sub-lead having one end portion connected to the first main lead, and a second sub-lead having one end portion connected to the second main lead and an opposite end portion spaced apart from an opposite end portion of the first sub-lead at a predetermined distance while facing the opposite end portion of the first sub-lead. The backlight unit includes a plurality of the light emitting diode packages.

Light emitting diode package and backlight unit having the same

In a display apparatus having a backlight unit, a light unit includes plural light source strings commonly connected to an output terminal of a boosting circuit to generate light in response to a light source driving voltage. The light source strings are grouped into plural light generating groups. Plural driving circuits are respectively connected to the light generating groups, and each driving circuit sequentially outputs feedback voltages from the light source strings of a corresponding light generating group. A minimum voltage detecting circuit compares the feedback voltages with each other from the driving circuits to detect a minimum voltage and outputs a control signal according to the detected minimum voltage. A voltage control circuit controls a voltage level of the light source driving voltage in response to the control signal. Accordingly, although the number of the driving circuits increases, power consumption used in each driving circuit may be reduced.

Backlight unit with controlled power consumption and display apparatus having the same

A method of driving a light source, a light source apparatus for performing the method, and a display apparatus having the light source apparatus are disclosed in accordance with one or more embodiments. In the method, a plurality of light source strings connected in parallel is driven by applying a driving voltage to a first terminal of the light source strings. A peak current due to a voltage deviation of each of the light source strings is switch-controlled to uniform an average current of the light source strings. Thus, a peak current flowing through light source strings in accordance with a voltage deviation of the light source strings is switch-controlled, so that an average current of the light source strings may be uniformly maintained. Therefore, a voltage deviation is not consumed as power, so that damage to circuit elements due to heat may be prevented.

A method of driving a light source includes; driving a plurality of light source strings in response to a plurality of driving signals, when a light source module having the plurality of light source strings connected in parallel with each other receives a driving voltage, detecting a detection voltage from channel input terminals of a multichannel current control part, wherein the multichannel current control part controls a resistance difference of the plurality of light source strings based on the plurality of driving signals, and controlling a level of the driving voltage via adjusting a current applied to a feedback terminal of a driving voltage generating part, wherein the driving voltage generating part generates the driving voltage.

A light source driving apparatus includes; a boosting part which boosts an input voltage received from an input part and generates a driving voltage, a boosting transistor which controls an operation of the boosting part, a rectification part connected between the boosting part and an output part and which transmits the driving voltage to the output part, an integrated circuit which generates a gate signal which controls the boosting transistor, and a protection circuit which generates a protection signal which controls a voltage level of the gate signal according to an output current of the boosting transistor.
