A display device and method of sensing an input point using magnetic fluid, the display device including: a touch panel part to receive a user input through a touch at an input point and to calculate a coordinate value of the input point; an electromagnet arrangement part comprising a plurality of electromagnets to generate a magnetic force on one or more electromagnets in a portion corresponding to the coordinate value; and a magnetic fluid part to obtain magnetism at the portion corresponding to the coordinate vale and to project in accordance with the generated magnetic force.

Provided is a bidirectional wavelength division multiplexed passive optical network (WDM-PON) which includes a central office (CO) that transmits and receives multiplexed optical signals, a remote node (RN) that communicates with the CO, receives a multiplexed optical signal to demultiplex, and receives a demultiplexed optical signal to multiplex, an optical network unit (ONU) that transmits and receives demultiplexed optical signals to and from the RN, operational and protective backbone optical fibers that connect the CO to the RN, and operational and protective distribution optical fibers that connect the RN to the ONU. The ONU transmits and receives optical signals through the operational distribution optical fiber and the operational backbone optical fiber, and, where a failure occurs in the operational distribution optical fiber or the operational backbone optical fiber, the ONU transmits and receives optical signals through the protective distribution optical fiber and the protective backbone optical fiber.

Bidirectional wavelength-division-multiplexed passive optical network

Provided is a tunable dispersion compensator based on an optical fiber grating for use in an optical transmission system. A tunable dispersion compensator comprises: a disk; a ring surrounding the disk, wherein the ring is rotatable independent of the disk; and a bendable plate crossing the disk and having end parts configured to move with the rotation of the ring, wherein at least one of the optical fiber grating is attached to the plate.

The present invention relates to a tunable distribution compensator, including: an optical fiber having a chirped optical fiber grating; first and second frames having first and second stepped portions, respectively, wherein the first stepped portion is symmetrically faced to the second stepped portion; a first metal plate with a predetermined length for attaching the optical fiber; a second metal plate seated on the first and second stepped portions; and a bending unit connected to the first and second frames and the second metal plate for symmetrically bending the optical fiber.
