A display device includes a display panel having first and second display areas. A data driver provides data and bias voltages to data lines. A timing controller controls the data driver and a scan driver based on at least two operation modes. The first mode drives the first and second display areas at a normal frequency, and the second mode drives the first display area at a first frequency substantially equal to or lower than the normal frequency and the second display area at a second frequency lower than the first frequency. The second mode includes an active frame to write a reference voltage to display a black image in the second display area, and blank frames to maintain the reference voltage and apply the bias voltage to the pixels in the second display area. The data driver varies the bias voltage in the blank frames.

Display device

A display device includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels, a gate driver configured to provide gate signals to the plurality of pixels, a data driver configured to provide data signals to the plurality of pixels, a correction data memory configured to store mura correction data, and a controller configured to control the gate driver and the data driver. The controller includes a pattern detection block configured to detect a set pattern in input image data, and a mura correction block configured to perform a mura correction operation that corrects the input image data based on the mura correction data in response to the set pattern not being detected, and to not perform the mura correction operation in accordance with the set pattern being detected.

Display device selectively performing a mura correction operation, and method of operating a display device

A display device comprises a timing controller which provides data comprising a pre-emphasis value and an image data value, and a data driver which supplies to data lines a pre-emphasis voltage generated based on the pre-emphasis value during a first period of a horizontal period, and supplies to the data lines a data voltage generated based on the image data value during a second period of the horizontal period. The timing controller provides data based on which the pre-emphasis value is changed in correspondence with one screen mode selected from a plurality of screen modes having different target color coordinates.

Display device and method of operating the same

A display device includes a display unit. The display unit includes a first display area and a second display area. A first scan line, a first power line, and first pixels connected to the first scan line and the first power line are in the first display area. A second scan line, a second power line, and second pixels connected to the second scan line and the second power line are in the second display area. A scan driver is configured to sequentially provide a scan signal to the first scan line and the second scan line. A power supply is configured to provide a power source voltage that is varied independently to the first power line and the second power line.

A display device and method is provided that permits selection of a first lookup table or a second lookup table to operate the data driver at respectively different temperatures to prevent heat from damaging the display device. The display device includes a detector which detects the number of toggles in which the amount of change in gray values of successive pixels driven by the same data line in one frame is equal to or greater than a reference gray change amount. A comparator compares the number of toggles detected by the detector with a reference number of toggles, and a lookup table selector which selects any one of a first lookup table and a second lookup table based on the comparison result of the comparator and provides the selected first lookup table or second lookup table to a data driver.

Display device and method of driving the same

A display device may include a display panel that includes a first region and a second region. The display device may include a controller that may receive a first gamma value and a second gamma value, use the first gamma value or a third gamma value to generate first image data, use the first gamma value and the second gamma value to generate a fourth gamma value, and use the fourth gamma value to generate second image data. The display device may include a data driver that may use the first image data and the second image data to generate a first data voltage set and a second data voltage set. The first region may use the first data voltage set to display a first portion of an image. The second region may use the second data voltage set to display a second portion of the image.
