The invention relates to a device for hydrating with a liquid sample, the device comprising a container () for receiving at least one liquid sample, and a lid () possessing a bottom face () having at least one hydrating support () fastened thereto to present an absorption face () for absorbing a liquid sample. According to the invention, the container () presents, by means of at least one well (), a calibrated volume for receiving a liquid sample, the at least said well presenting a hydrating calibrated open section for hydrating a hydrating support () defined by the top edge () of at least said well (), the hydrating calibrated open section possessing an area that is less than the area of the absorption face of the hydrating support () in order to control the absorption by capillarity of the liquid sample by the hydrating support.

Method and device for hydrating a hydrating medium by a liquid sample

A method of detecting and/or specifically identifying bacteria producing OXA-048-type carbapenemase in a biological sample, includes the steps of: (a) placing the biological sample likely to contain the bacteria in contact with a reaction medium including at least one chromogenic substrate to detect an enzymatic activity, and temocillin at a concentration equal to or greater than 150 mg/L, preferably between 200 and 500 mg/L, (b) incubating the sample in the medium to allow the bacteria to grow, and (c) detecting the strains corresponding to the OXA-48 carbapenemase producing bacteria. A culture medium as implemented in step (a) is also provided.

Method of detecting OXA-048 carbapenemase producing bacteria

Disclosed is a process for detecting and/or identifying, in a biological sample, bacteria exhibiting a resistance to carbapenems, including: a) contacting said sample with a reaction medium including at least one chromogenic agent and faropenem and/or doripenem; b) incubating the whole so as to allow the bacteria to grow; and c) detecting the strains exhibiting a resistance to carbapenems. The medium employed in step a) also contains cloxacillin and/or a combination of cloxacillin and PAbetaN.
