This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for performing a single-sided ranging operation. In some implementations, a first device transmits a first frame to a wireless station (STA), and receives a second frame from the STA responsive to the first frame. The first device obtains information indicating a time period between transmission of the first frame and reception of the second frame by the first device, and obtains information indicating time delays associated with a plurality of second devices, where each of the time delays is between respective receptions of the first frame and the second frame by a respective one of the second devices. The first device obtains a position of the STA based on the time period, the time delays associated with the plurality of second devices, and signal propagation times between the first device and each of the plurality of second devices.

Single-sided round trip time (RTT) location estimation

An AP obtains service-level agreement (SLA) parameters indicating at least a delay bound for each of a plurality of traffic flows. The AP receives first packets of a first traffic flow, and delays their transmission for a delay period based on the data carried in the first packets being less than a first threshold. During the delay period, the AP receives second packets of the first traffic flow while also receiving packets of a second traffic flow, groups the second traffic flow with the first traffic flow for an MU-MIMO transmission based on the data carried in the first and second packets of the first traffic flow being greater than the first threshold and the data carried in the packets of the second traffic flow being greater than a second threshold, and transmits the first and second packets traffic flows as an MU-MIMO communication.

Dynamic MU-MIMO staging for real-world applications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, a wireless device may buffer uplink communications. However, such approaches may be improved. An access point (AP) may receive, from a station, uplink traffic of a traffic flow for forwarding to a backhaul network via a backhaul link. The AP may monitor a buffer of the AP to determine that a quantity of buffered uplink traffic received from the station exceeds a buffer quota, the buffer quota set for the traffic flow based on a traffic throughput capacity of the backhaul link and a throughput parameter for the traffic flow. The AP may modify, based on the quantity of buffered uplink traffic exceeding the buffer quota, an uplink communication scheme to reduce the quantity of uplink traffic from the station. The AP may communicate with the station based on the modified uplink communication scheme.

Uplink flow control

This disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for performing passive scanning operations on one or more wireless channels. In some implementations, a wireless communication device configures an off-channel scan time and a passive scanning period for passive scanning operations based on latency requirements of a low-latency application, and selects a home channel dwell time for the passive scanning operations. The wireless communication device may perform the passive scanning operation by alternating between listening for beacon frames on one or more second wireless channels for the configured off-channel scan time and dwelling on a home channel for the selected home channel dwell time during a first portion of the configured scanning period. The wireless communication device also may listen for beacon frames on the one or more second wireless channels during a second portion of the configured scanning period that is defined by the selected home channel dwell time.

Mirrored split passive scanning

A first Multi-AP device configured as a Multi-AP Agent transmits, to a second Multi-AP device configured as a Multi-AP Controller over a first communication link, a Device Provisioning Protocol (DPP) Configuration Request Message indicating multi-link operation (MLO) capabilities of the first Multi-AP device. The first Multi-AP device receives, from the second Multi-AP device over the first communication link, a DPP Configuration Response Message indicating MLO association information responsive to the indicated MLO capabilities, and establishes a backhaul path with a third Multi-AP device, configured as a second Multi-AP Agent, on the first communication link and one or more second communication links according to the MLO association information. The MLO capabilities may be indicated in a DPP Configuration Object of the DPP Configuration Request Message, and the MLO association information may be indicated in a multi-link device (MLD) address field of a DPP Configuration Object of the DPP Configuration Response Message.

Multi-link operation (MLO) for easy mesh

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide an architecture and method for multi-link operation (MLO) at an access point (AP). The method generally includes obtaining a packet from at least one buffer and selecting a processing path, from first and second processing paths, for a packet to be routed from the at least one buffer to at least one of a plurality of radio components for wireless transmission to at least one peer via one or more links, wherein: the first processing path is configured to bind the packet to one of the one or more links based on at least one code-implemented rule, and the second processing path is configured to bind the packet to one of the one or more links based on instantaneous channel sensing.

Flexible multi-link operation architecture

This disclosure provides systems and methods for use of automated frequency coordination (AFC) to manage transmission power and frequencies. In some implementations, a device transmits, to a network entity, an AFC request. The device receives, from the network entity, an AFC response, the AFC response including an AFC power level indication of one or more nearest neighboring entities. The device sets a transmit power of the device based at least in part on the AFC power level indication of at least one of the one or more nearest neighboring entities, and the device transmits at the transmit power. In some instances, the device transmits a first number of AFC requests during a first instance of travelling along a path and transmits a second number of AFC requests less than the first number of AFC requests during one or more successive instances after the first instance of travelling along the path.

Automated frequency coordination for high speed mobility

An access point (AP) of an AP multi-link device (MLD) is associated with a first communication link, and one or more secondary APs of the AP MLD are associated with one or more respective secondary communication links of the AP MLD. The first AP of the AP MLD generates a frame including a first change sequence field, one or more secondary change sequence fields, and a critical update flag subfield. The first change sequence field carries a value of the most-recent critical update for the first AP. The one or more secondary change sequence fields carry values of the most-recent critical updates for the one or more respective secondary APs. The critical update flag subfield carries an indication of a change in value of at least one of the secondary change sequence fields. The first AP transmits the frame over the first communication link of the AP MLD.

Early critical update indications for multi-link devices

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an access point may start a target wake time (TWT) service period (SP). The access point may receive an end of SP (EOSP) indication from a station. The access point may stop the TWT SP before a scheduled end of the TWT SP based on receiving the EOSP indication. Numerous other aspects are described.

End of service period indication

This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for high efficiency (HE) beacons. HE supported access points (APs) and stations (STAs) may operate on resource deployments used for Wi-Fi technology and without support for legacy devices, also referred to as a greenfield deployment. An AP may identify updated capability information and transmit a HE physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) including a beacon frame. A STA may receive, from the AP, the HE or EHT PPDU and identify an indication of change to a content or format of the beacon frame relative to a reference beacon frame. Based on the identified indication, the STA may then determine an updated content or format for the beacon frame and process the beacon frame or skip processing for one or more portions of the beacon frame.

High efficiency signaling

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for implementing multi-link aggregation and conditional inheritance in a first basic service set (BSS). In one aspect, an apparatus may establish a first communication link with a first station (STA) of the first BSS using a first frequency band. The apparatus may determine a first link profile for a second communication link by customizing one or more management elements of management information associated with the first communication link. The apparatus may configure a first non-inheritance element of the first link profile associated with the second communication link to indicate usage of at least one management element of the management information by the second communication link is disabled. The apparatus may generate a management frame that comprises at least the first link profile, and may output the management frame for transmission.

Conditional inheritance in management frame for multi-link aggregation

This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for provisioning resources for wireless communications. Some implementations more specifically relate to provisioning such resources based on a mapping of wireless communication devices to a number of time sectors that occur periodically and do not overlap other time sectors. In some aspects, each wireless stations (STAs) in a basic service set (BSS) may be mapped to a respective time sector based on attributes associated with the BSS so that communications between a STA and its associated access point (AP) can only occur within the respective time sector(s) to which the STA is mapped. In some other aspects, each AP in a multi-AP environment may be mapped to a respective time sector based on attributes associated with the multi-AP environment so that communications between an AP and its associated STAs can only occur within the respective time sector(s) to which the AP is mapped.

Network time sectoring

Systems and methods for selectively enabling multi-user (MU) communications are disclosed. In some implementations, an access point (AP) obtains packets associated with a traffic flow, and obtains at least one of service-level agreement (SLA) parameters associated with the traffic flow, attributes of the traffic flow, or network parameters associated with a basic service set (BSS) that includes the AP. The AP provides an indication of whether the traffic flow is suitable for transmission as a single-user (SU) multiple-input multiple output (MIMO) (SU-MIMO) communication, as an MU-MIMO communication, as an orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) communication, or as a partial bandwidth (BW) MU-MIMO communication to a WLAN subsystem of the AP, the indication being based on one or more of the SLA parameters, the traffic flow attributes, or the network parameters. The AP initiates transmission of the one or more packets based on the indication.

Managed MU-MIMO enablement for real-world applications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A station (STA) may receive a first signal including an indication of a set of frequency channels for a set of target wake time (TWT) sessions that recur according to a service interval. In some examples, the first signal may indicate a respective frequency channel of the set of frequency channels for each TWT session of the set of target wake time sessions. Each TWT session of the set of TWT sessions may have an associated service period that the STA may be in an awake state. The STA may switch, for the first TWT session, from the first frequency channel to the second frequency channel. In some examples, based on the switching, the STA may communicate a signal during a service period associated with the first TWT session over the second frequency channel.

Managing hopping target wake times for wireless networks

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that may allow a device participating in a setup procedure to efficiently propose a range of values for a negotiated parameter. The techniques may reduce setup time, for example, allowing a responder to accept a value within the proposed range which may eliminate overhead associated with some of the back and forth message exchange of typical negotiations.
