A system, which includes a first device associated with a user, a second device configured to establish a user session and a server, performs storing a default user session setting associated with the user, the default user session setting defining a default user access privilege to functionality or content; determining that the first device is proximate to the second device; receiving a second user input requesting to modify the default user session setting, the second user input including modification data defining a restrictive modification to the default user session setting; modifying, at the server, the default user session setting based on the modification data to create a customized user session setting defining a customized user access privilege to the functionality or content available via the system; and establishing, at the second device, the customized user session for the user based on the customized user setting received from the server.

The techniques disclosed herein improve the efficiency of a system by providing intelligent management of content that is associated with objects displayed within communication sessions. The participants can generate a content object associated with a 3D object. The content object may be in the form of 3D virtual object such as an arrow pointing to the table, a text box of an annotation, etc. The content object may also include functional features that collect and display information voting agent. The system can generate a data structure that associates the object with the content object. The data structure enables a system to maintain an association between the object and the content object when various operations are applied to either object. Thus, if a remote computer sends a request for the content object, the associated object is delivered with the content object.

Intelligent management of content related to objects displayed within communication sessions

An improved human-computer interface for placing and sizing virtual objects in a three-dimensional ('3D') representation of a real-world environment is disclosed herein. The disclosed HCI can determine a location, size, and orientation of virtual objects in a 3D representation of a real-world environment based on simplified user gestures. In some embodiments, based on the timing and direction of an input gesture, a computing device can utilize (1) an automated mode that determines a position and orientation of a virtual object or utilize (2) a manual mode that determines position, orientation, and size of the virtual object. A computing device capable of 3D spatial mapping generates mesh data defining a 3D representation of a real-world environment and images of the real-world environment. The size of the virtual object can be based on a computed depth of real-world objects related to the virtual object.
