Embodiments of the present invention relate to methods, systems, and computer program products for event management. In a method, a plurality of notes that are comprised in a plurality of event records are obtained in a computer system. A plurality of paragraphs that are comprised in the plurality of notes are classified into a plurality of content types based on a content analysis of the plurality of paragraphs. The plurality of notes are classified into a plurality of semantic types based on the plurality of content types and a syntactic parsing to the plurality of notes. A knowledge item is generated for managing an event in the computer system based on a group of notes in the plurality of notes that are classified into the plurality of semantic types. With these embodiments, knowledge items for managing events may be obtained in an easier and more effective way.

Techniques for monitoring and analysis of interactions between network endpoints are disclosed. In some embodiments, a process for monitoring and analysis of interactions between network endpoints includes collecting Domain Name System (DNS) response data from a network device; determining network endpoint interactions based on an analysis of the DNS response data (e.g., using a processor); and generating a graph corresponding to the network endpoint interactions. For example, the network device can include a DNS device and/or a software-defined networking (SDN) device (e.g., an SDN switch, such as an OpenFlow switch).

Monitoring and analysis of interactions between network endpoints

Techniques described herein may be used to implement an intelligent network analytics architecture (INAA) capable of monitoring a network in real-time and detecting faults occurring in the network. The INAA may develop and implement solutions to the problems, and subsequently verify that the solutions actually fixed the problems. The INAA may cause the solutions to be implemented throughout the network (and not just at the source of the initial problem). The INAA may identify other aspects of the network that are likely to experience similar (though not the same) problems in the future, develop solutions to those problems, and implement the solutions throughout the network. The INAA may enable an operator to participate in this process by providing a complete explanation of, and proposed solution to, a particular problem, and enabling the operator to approve, prevent, modify, postpone, etc., the implementation of the solution.
