Media sets may be presented as a media presentation (e.g., a slideshow or a thumbnail set), but many such presentations exhaust the attention of a user, particularly for large media sets. Instead, ratings may be identified that represents the relevance or interest of respective media objects of the media set to the user. These ratings may be identified explicitly by the user or automatically detected (e.g., by assessing image quality or monitoring user interactions with respective media objects). A zoomable media presentation of the media set may first present only media objects having a high rating, and upon zooming in near a media object, may insert, near the zoomed media object, one or more media objects associated with the zoomed media object and having a lower rating. This presentation therefore hierarchically organizes the media set, and utilizes zoom operations as a 'drill-down' metaphor within the hierarchy of the media set.

A graphical user interface for creating a data summary table includes a field pane including a list of a plurality of fields, and a layout pane including a plurality of zones. The zones represent areas of the data summary table, and the layout pane allows a field of the plurality of fields from the field pane to be added to a first zone of the zones. A data summary table is updated upon the field being added to the layout pane.

Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for providing images having zoomspots are provided. In embodiments, an interactive image is provided. Such an interactive image includes a zoomspot that, if selected, results in a magnified portion of the interactive image corresponding with the zoomspot. Subsequently, an indication of a selection of the zoomspot is received. In response thereto, the magnified portion of the interactive image corresponding with the zoomspot is automatically presented. The magnified portion can be presented in accordance with a predetermined location of the interactive image and a predetermined quality.

Embodiments provide information composition management features and functionality to manage composite information, but are not so limited. In an embodiment, a computing system can include functionality to provide a composition of informational data that can be used to identify and manage aspects of shared and other data that can be associated with distinct information sources. In one embodiment, a computing platform includes a client that can be configured to access and use information of a plurality of independent sources to create a data composition that includes aspects of shared and unshared data portions and manage data changes of the data composition including managing issues associated with one or more of the plurality of independent sources. Various technologies and techniques are disclosed for presenting and browsing hierarchical data. A hierarchical chart is displayed with a primary entity being displayed in a center region of the display. One or more peers to the primary entity are displayed along a horizontal axis in comparison to the primary entity. One or more parents to the primary entity are displayed above the primary entity, and one or more children to the primary entity are displayed beneath the primary entity. A method for performing searches against a hierarchical chart is also described. Input is received for a name to search for in a hierarchical chart. A filter criteria selection is received. A search is performed against the hierarchical chart to find one or more matching records that match the name and the filter criteria. The one or more matching records are displayed, with at least a name and photo.

Techniques for presenting and browsing hierarchical data

Technologies are described herein for providing an improved interface for interacting with a document within a private computer network. A flag interface, a tag interface, and a comment interface are provided within a document viewer. The flag interface enables a user of the private computer network to flag a document as the document is displayed by the document viewer. The tag interface enables the user to associate a tag with the document as the document is displayed by the document viewer. The comment interface enables the user to share comments about the document with other users of the private computer network as the document is displayed by the document viewer.

Embodiments described herein provide information management features and functionality that can be used to manage information of distinct information sources, but are not so limited. In an embodiment, a computing environment includes a client that can be used to access data from distinct sources and generate a data composition representing aspects of accessed and other data and/or relationships of the distinct sources. In one embodiment, a client can include data composition and conflict resolution presentation features that can be used to manage one or more data compositions and/or source interrelationships.
