A transparent roof panel assembly for an opening in a vehicle roof comprises a panel having a transparent area that allows visible light to pass through between an exterior and an interior of the vehicle. A light source is arranged to provide light in the panel. An in-coupling element couples light into the panel from the interior side of the panel, the in-coupling element being attached to the interior side of the panel and redirecting light from the light source into the panel. The in-coupling element may be partly covered towards the interior of the vehicle, with the exception of a selected area, such that light is able to pass from the in-coupling element towards the interior through the selected area. The in-coupling element is attached to the interior side of the panel by an adhering material accommodated in a chamber formed between the in-coupling element and the panel.

Transparent roof panel assembly for a vehicle roof

A transparent panel for use in a vehicle roof of a vehicle comprises a layered stack comprising a first and a second transparent pane and an electrically conductive assembly arranged between the second and the third main surface, wherein a through hole is provided in the second pane. The panel further comprises an electric apparatus mounted on a passenger compartment side covering the through hole. The electric apparatus is electrically coupled to the electrically conductive assembly through the through hole. The electrically conductive assembly electrically couples a first and a second terminal and is arranged between and adjacent to the first and the second terminals, wherein an optical transmissivity of the transparent panel is not visually deteriorated in an area of the electrically conductive assembly around the electric apparatus.

Transparent roof panel having an isolated center unit

A glass panel assembly for use in a roof of a vehicle, comprises a glass panel, a frame and an elongate lighting device. The glass panel comprises an interior main surface and the interior main surface of the glass panel is configured to be directed to a passenger compartment of the vehicle. The frame is adhered to the interior main surface and comprises a shaped element. The shaped element is one of a recess and a protrusion. The elongate lighting device is coupled to the frame by a mating shape engaging the shaped element. The lighting device is configured to directly illuminate at least a part of said passenger compartment.

Glass panel assembly for a roof of a vehicle

A roof construction for a vehicle having an opening in its fixed roof, comprises at least one panel for at least closing said opening. The panel comprises a first and a second layer of glass and in between said first and second layer of glass a sheet of photo voltaic cells as a third layer. The sheet of photo voltaic cells has an active layer of a thin film of solar cell material and further has a first area which is semi-transparent and a second area which is substantially opaque.

Roof construction for a vehicle and a semi-transparent photo voltaic panel therein

An open roof construction for a vehicle having an opening in its fixed roof comprises a stationary part and at least a panel supported by the stationary part and configured to close the opening in the fixed roof. The panel include two substantially parallel sheets connected and sealed to each other at least along their circumference in order to create a space there between containing gas. The space communicates with a pressure equalizing device equalizing the pressure in the space with the ambient pressure. The pressure equalizing device can be an open or closed system.

Open roof construction for a vehicle, and panel for use therein

The application discloses a panel assembly for use in a open roof construction for a vehicle. The panel assembly comprises a panel main body, and at least one reinforcement member positioned in the vicinity of at least a part of the edges of said panel main body, and firmly connected thereto by means of a part molded in a molding process to said panel main body and said reinforcement member. A provision is made for locally at least reducing adherence of the moldable material to said reinforcement member and/or said panel main body during molding. There is also disclosed a method of manufacturing the panel assembly.

Roof panel and method of manufacturing said panel

Aspects of the invention relate to sunroof for a vehicle having an opening in its fixed roof. The sunroof comprises a stationary part to be attached to the vehicle, and at least a front closure member and a rear closure member, movably supported by the stationary part. The closure members are movable between a closed position within the roof opening and an open position in which they are moved at least partly away from the roof opening. An intermediate member is supported by the stationary part in the area of the rear end of the front closure member and the front end of the rear closure member when they are in their closed position. An electrical part on each of the closure members requires electrical connections between each closure member and the stationary part. An electrical connection between the closure members is effected through the intermediate member, while the connection to the stationary part is effected through one of the intermediate member and closure members which has the least displacement with respect to the stationary part.

Sunroof for a vehicle

An open roof construction for a vehicle is disclosed. The open roof construction includes a panel movable between a closed position and a raised or tilted position via operation of a tilting lever and an auxiliary lever. In illustrated embodiments, the tilting lever includes a follower movable along a guide curve to lift a rear end of the panel from the closed position to a raised position. The auxiliary lever provides auxiliary lift to the tilting lever when the follower reaches an opened end of the guide curve. As disclosed, the auxiliary lift lever rotates from a lowered position to an upright position which in illustrated embodiments is generally perpendicular to a stationary roof part to provide additional lift to the tilting lever.
