Methods and computer-readable media are provided herein for implementing custom application programming interfaces (API) for creating, managing, and provisioning packages of online applications. An offer management service API is implemented that provides methods for creating and modifying offers for packages of online applications. An offer provisioning API is implemented that provides methods enabling the provisioning of online applications for subscribers to offers. An application provider API is published and utilized to provision and maintain individual instances of online applications provided by application providers.

Creating managing, and provisioning packages of online applications

A method and system for cryptographically indexing, searching for, and retrieving documents is provided. In some embodiments, an encryption system is provided that generates a document index that allows users to retrieve documents by performing encrypted queries for keywords associated with the documents. In some embodiments, each keyword maps to the same number of encrypted document identifiers. In some embodiments, an extractor graph is employed to map an indication of each keyword to a number of buckets storing encrypted document identifiers. In some embodiments, an order-preserving encryption system is provided. The encryption system uses an ordered index that maps encrypted instances of ordered attribute values to documents that are associated with those values. The ordered index enables queries containing query operators that rely on order, such as less than ('&#x3c;') or greater than ('&#x3e;'), to be successfully performed on encrypted attribute values.

Creating, managing, and provisioning packages of online applications

A remote power management system and method for awakening a remote computing device over a computer network. A wakeup event is initiated by a client on the network, and an application server publishes the wakeup event. A subscriber, such as the subnet where the remote computing device resides, picks up the wakeup event and gives it to a computing device on the subnet that is awake. The awake computing device constructs a 'magic packet' to take advantage of the automatic wakeup feature of the network card on the remote computing device, and broadcasts the 'magic packet' throughout the subnet. Stateless handling of wakeup events is used to alleviate any need for a dedicated proxy server on the subnet to send the &#x201c;magic packets.&#x201d; The computing device on the subnet that constructs and broadcasts the &#x201c;magic packets&#x201d; is rotated to provide equitable rest time for each of the computing devices.

Techniques for representing keywords in an encrypted search index to prevent histogram-based attacks

A 'Wi-Fi Multicaster' provides a practical and efficient Wi-Fi multicast system for environments having potentially large numbers of Wi-Fi clients. Significantly, the Wi-Fi Multicaster does not require any changes to the 802.11 protocol, or to the underlying Wi-Fi infrastructure. In various embodiments, the Wi-Fi Multicaster uses pseudo-broadcast, and augments it with destination control, association control and optional proactive FEC (forward error correction) to improve multicast performance. More specifically, the Wi-Fi Multicaster system converts multicast packets to targeted unicast transmissions. To minimize the amount of airtime consumed, the Wi-Fi Multicaster uses destination control in combination with various algorithms for association control. Further, in various embodiments, the Wi-Fi Multicaster includes an adaptive, proactive FEC scheme to reduce overall packet losses. Finally, to overcome the challenges posed by encryption protocols such as 802.1x, the Wi-Fi Multicaster uses a 'virtual multicast interface' that allows clients to &#x201c;share&#x201d; a common key for each multicast.

The market module specifies countries or regions in which offers are made available. The billing module processes billing and payment actions for an offer. The change management module processes alterations to a provisioned offer, inserting the properties of an add-on component into the properties of a base component.
