Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for demapping a signal to a point in a signal constellation. An example method generally includes identifying a seed point in a signal constellation from a received signal. A candidate set of codes for the signal is generated based on a seed point and an additive perturbation applied to the seed point. A point in the signal constellation corresponding to the value of the received signal is identified based on a probability distribution generated over the candidate set of codes. Generally, the identified point corresponds to a code in the candidate set of codes having a highest probability in the probability distribution. The point in the signal constellation is output as the value of the received signal.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a signal. The UE may measure the signal to explore one or more inactive ranks or inactive precoders. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the measuring, a report that includes channel state information for at least one of the one or more inactive ranks or inactive precoders. Numerous other aspects are described.

Exploration of inactive ranks or inactive precoders

A method of wireless communications by a user equipment (UE) includes decoding information received from a base station via a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). The UE determines whether to update channel state feedback based on the decoded information. The channel state feedback is updated based on the determination to generate updated channel state feedback. The updated channel state feedback is transmitted to the base station. The UE is configured to update the channel state feedback without an additional measurement of a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS).

Enhanced user equipment channel state feedback capability with frequent reporting

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to neural network based channel state information (CSI) feedback. In some aspects, a device may obtain a CSI instance for a channel, determine a neural network model including a CSI encoder and a CSI decoder, and train the neural network model based at least in part on encoding the CSI instance into encoded CSI, decoding the encoded CSI into decoded CSI, and computing and minimizing a loss function by comparing the CSI instance and the decoded CSI. The device may obtain one or more encoder weights and one or more decoder weights based at least in part on training the neural network model. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Neural network based channel state information feedback

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a set of reference signals from a base station and may determine a first set of channel state parameters. The UE may determine one or more preprocessed decoder parameters based on a downlink channel decoder of the UE and may perform one or more signal processing operations to determine one or more adjustment values for the first set of channel state parameters. The UE may transmit an indication of a the one or more adjustment values to the base station. In some implementations, the UE may transmit an indication of the one or more preprocessed decoder parameters to the base station and the base station may perform the one or more signal processing operations to determine the one or more adjustment values.

Online adjustment for channel state information

Systems and methods facilitating feedback of robust channel state information (CSI), such as to provide full CSI feedback or otherwise providing CSI feedback, are described. CSI encoders and/or decoders used by network nodes may implement channel compression/reconstruction based upon neural-network (NN) training of collected channels. A structured payload having an interpretable payload portion and an uninterpretable payload portion may utilized with respect to CSI feedback. The channel compression provided according to some aspects of the disclosure supports feedback of robust CSI, in some instances including full CSI, as determined by a particular network node. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Channel state information feedback using channel compression and reconstruction

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a request that the UE report a predicted future channel state information measurement. Upon receiving the request, the UE may measure, during a first time period, a channel to obtain measured channel state information. The UE may then determine the predicted future channel state information for a second time period based on the measured channel state information. In some case, the second time period may be subsequent to the first time period. Upon determining the predicted future channel state information measurement, the UE may transmit, to the base station, a channel state information report. In some aspects, the channel state information report may be indicative of the predicted future channel state information measurement.

Forward-looking channel state information prediction and reporting

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described, and relate to a base station to communicating with a user equipment (UE) over a channel. A first device (for example, the base station or the UE) may use a trained neural network to estimate one or more link performance metrics associated with the channel. Predicting the link level performance may include determining one or more neural network weights associated with one or more input parameters associated with the channel to estimate the one or more link performance metrics. The first device may report feedback to the second device based on the estimated link performance metrics. Based on the feedback, the second device may adapt the link by adjusting channel parameters to improve the reliability or efficacy of later transmissions.

Neural-network-based link-level performance prediction

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described for monitoring interference level to selectively control usage of a contention-based protocol. In an example, a wireless device may transmit, while operating in a non-contention-based mode for a wireless link with a second wireless device, a first beamformed data transmission to the second wireless device over a shared channel. The wireless device may determine that an interference level condition is satisfied for the shared channel and transition from operating in the non-contention-based mode to operating in a contention-based mode for the wireless link based at least in part on the interference level condition being satisfied. The wireless device may perform a contention-based protocol, while operating in the contention-based mode for the wireless link with the second wireless device, prior to transmission of a second beamformed data transmission to the second wireless device over the shared channel.

Monitoring interference level to selectively control usage of a contention-based protocol

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may perform a channel access procedure on a shared radio frequency spectrum band using a first beam configuration. The base station may transmit, based at least in part on successful completion of the channel access procedure, a reservation request message (RRQ) to a user equipment (UE) using a second beam configuration, the second beam configuration comprising a beam width that is equal to or narrower than a beam width of the first beam configuration. The base station may receive a reservation response message (RRS) from the UE in response to the RRQ, the RRS comprising a third beam configuration that is based at least in part on the second beam configuration.

Asynchronous single beam directional listen-before-talk

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A receiving wireless device may determine that a data communication is scheduled for the wireless device on a channel of a shared radio frequency spectrum band during a transmission opportunity (TxOP) spanning a plurality of slots. The receiving wireless device may identify a subset of slots from the plurality of slots, wherein the subset of slots is associated with a channel reservation signal by the wireless device. The receiving wireless device may receive the data communication at the wireless device during the TxOP using a beam configuration. The receiving wireless device may perform repeated transmissions of the channel reservation signal based at least in part on the beam configuration during the subset of slots and within a time period associated with receiving the data communication.

Reservation repetition for deafness avoidance

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may determine an interference status of each beam configuration of a plurality of active beam configurations for a shared radio frequency spectrum band. The wireless device may determine a beam-specific listen-before-talk (LBT) requirement for each beam configuration of the plurality of active beam configurations based at least in part on the determined interference status of each beam configuration. The wireless device may selectively enable an LBT procedure on a per-beam basis according to the determined beam-specific LBT requirement for each beam configuration.

On-demand listen-before-talk

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may select a transmission beam sequence for a wireless device during a plurality of transmission slots. The transmission beam sequence may indicate a transmission beam that the wireless device will use for its transmissions during a corresponding transmission slot. The wireless device may transmit a broadcast control signal including an indication of the transmission beam sequence. The wireless device may perform wireless transmissions over the plurality of transmission slots according to the transmission beam sequence. Other wireless devices may use the transmission beam sequence to schedule their own transmissions during the plurality of transmission slots.

Bursty interference mitigation techniques

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device (e.g., a user equipment and/or base station) may select a beam configuration for a wireless transmission over a channel of a radio frequency spectrum band. The wireless device may perform a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure on the channel using a LBT detection threshold, wherein the LBT detection threshold is based at least in part on the selected beam configuration. The wireless device may perform the wireless transmission over the channel using the selected beam configuration based at least in part on a success of the LBT procedure.

Adaptive medium sensing thresholds

Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communication systems configured to share a shared spectrum with one or more other systems (e.g., other operator networks utilizing the same radio access technology, and/or other networks utilizing different radio access technologies). Coexistence between the different systems on the shared spectrum may be provided by utilizing a technology-neutral signature waveform such as a signature sequence. A device or system may monitor a shared spectrum channel for the signature waveform, and when detected, may determine whether the shared spectrum is available for that system, or busy as occupied by another system. When the shared spectrum channel is idle, the device or system may reserve the channel by transmitting the signature waveform.
