The present disclosure relates to a device for emission and reception of ultrasonic signal to and from a surface under survey, the device includes a stationary shaft part; and two or more wheel assemblies attachable to a stationary shaft part. Each wheel assembly includes an orbital inner ring, an orbital outer ring, and one or more transducers mounted on the outward facing surface of the orbital inner ring protruding radially from the orbital inner ring. The orbital outer ring being arranged radially outside the transducer modules with the orbital inner ring and is rotating together when the wheel assembly is rolled along a surface to be surveyed.

A film comprising a piezoelectric polymer has an upper surface and a lower surface. The film has an active region comprising the piezoelectric polymer, which extends from the upper surface of the film to the lower surface of the film. The film also comprises an adhesive sheet, which defines part of the upper or lower surface of the film. Circuit sheets may be bonded to the upper and lower surfaces in a lamination process to produce a laminated piezoelectric device.

Device, system and method for emission and reception of ultrasonic signal to and from a test material, wherein the device comprising one or more wheel assemblies () wherein each wheel assembly () further comprising: one or more transducers () arranged partially or completely embedded in a coupling medium/partial or complete inner ring (), the wheel assembly is further comprising an orbital outer ring (), and wherein the coupling medium/partial or complete inner ring () is connected to an axle () in anon-rotating manner and the one or more transducers () are fixedly pointing towards the test material (), and the interface between the inward facing surface () of the orbital outer ring () and/or the outward facing surface () of the coupling medium/partial or complete inner ring () comprises a low friction material having an acoustic impedance in the same order as that of the orbital outer ring ().
