There is provided a coating moving method for a cable that removes a coating at a terminal portion of a cable, including a step of applying a pressing force having such a magnitude that a cutting edge stops at a position before reaching the core wire to the cutting blade to make an incision on the coating by the cutting blade, a step of twist-cutting an uncut portion of the coating between the cutting edge of the cutting blade and the outer periphery of the core wire by rotating the coating on a distal end side from an incision position with respect to the coating on a base end side, and a step of removing the coating on the distal end side from the incision position by gripping and pulling out the coating on the distal end side from the incision position to expose the core wire.

A terminal insertion device that inserts a terminal into a connector housing, is provided with a stationary disk, a parallel joint mechanism which grasps an electric wire which is connected to the terminal at a leading end and conveys the electric wire and inserts the terminal into a cavity of the connector housing, a biaxial sensor portion capable of measuring at least a contour position of the terminal, roll angle calculation portion which calculates a roll angle with respect to a reference condition, and a roll angle compensation control portion that controls the parallel joint mechanism to compensate an inclination of the terminal.

Terminal insertion device and terminal insertion method

A method for connecting a plurality of insulated wires to each other is provided. Each of the insulated wires has a conductor portion and an insulating coating covering the conductor portion. The insulating coating is made of an insulating material. The method includes stripping the insulating coating of each of the insulated wires to expose the conductor portion such that the insulating coating is removed from a section of the insulated wire along a direction in which the insulated wire extends and at a location away from an end portion of the insulated wire, and connecting the conductor portions of the insulated wires. The connecting includes crimping a crimp joint terminal onto the exposed conductor portions to join the exposed conductor portions, and after the crimping, welding the conductor portions by applying pressure and electric current or ultrasonic vibration to the crimp joint terminal.
