A mobile or portable device comprises an illuminating arrangement comprising a light source, and an amplitude splitting interferometer configured to form an interferogram of light emitted by the light source. The illuminating arrangement is configured to illuminate a target region lying at a distance of at least 10 cm from the device by the interferogram, thereby projecting a structured light pattern onto the target region. The device further comprises an image sensor configured to capture at least one digital image frame of the target region illuminated by the interferogram, and a processing unit configured to obtain image data of the at least one digital image frame, and determine depth of at least one object location in the target region relative to a reference location on the basis of the obtained image data.

Depth sensing using structured illumination

An apparatus is described. In an embodiment, the apparatus comprises an illumination unit configured to simultaneously illuminate a first portion of a scene with unstructured light and a second portion of the scene with structured light. The apparatus further comprises a digital image capture unit configured to capture at least one image frame of the illuminated scene.

An apparatus is disclosed in some embodiments. The apparatus comprising; a diode light source having a first terminal and a second terminal, an input configured to receive power form an output of a power supply, an inductor configured to store energy and to provide power for the diode light source, the inductor having a first terminal connected to the first terminal of the diode light source, and a second terminal connected to the second terminal of the diode light source, wherein the diode light source and the inductor are connected in parallel, a switching element configured to control a flow of a current through the inductor.

Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for LED current generation. In one aspect there is provided a method, which may include receiving, at combiner circuitry, a first current from a light emitting diode driver circuitry; receiving, at the combiner circuitry, a second current from at least one of a capacitor or a battery; combining, by the combiner circuitry, the first current with the second current to form an augmented current, wherein the augmented current is based on at least a first value of a first resistor and a second value of a second resistor; and outputting, by the combiner circuitry, the augmented current to drive at least one light emitting diode. Related systems, articles of manufacture, and the like are also disclosed.

An apparatus is disclosed that includes a first node coupleable to a power supply, a charge storage component coupled between a second node and a third node, and a first leg between the first node and second node. The first leg includes a first switching device. The apparatus includes a second leg between the first node and the third node. The second leg includes a second switching device. The apparatus includes a third leg between the second node and a fourth node. The third leg includes a third switching device. The apparatus includes a fourth leg between the third node and the fourth node, wherein the fourth leg includes a fourth switching device. The apparatus includes one or more contacts in one of the second leg or the third leg, the one or more contacts configured to be coupled to a load. Charging and load driving operations may be performed.

Drivers for loads such as light emitting diodes

An apparatus including a flashlamp; a lens member connected to the flashlamp; and a reflector connected to the lens member. The lens member is located between the flashlamp and the reflector. A method includes connecting the lens member to the flashlamp, where the lens member substantially surrounds the flashlamp, and connecting the reflector around an exterior side of the lens member, where an exit side of the lens member is not covered by the reflector.

A device including a first electrical conductor, a second electrical conductor, dielectric material connecting the first and second conductors to each other, and an output or ground terminal section. The first electrical conductor has a first terminal section and a first plate section. The second electrical conductor includes a second terminal section and a second plate section. The second terminal section is connected to a first end of the second plate section. The second plate section includes a coil shaped section. The output terminal section is connected to an opposite second end of the second plate section. The dielectric material connects the first and second plate sections to each other.
