A method, apparatus, and a computer-readable storage medium are provided for enhanced early measurement reporting procedures at a user equipment. In an example implementation, the method may include a user equipment determining that the user equipment is configured for enhanced early measurement reporting, determining whether to initiate early measurement reporting measurements based on an indication when the user equipment is configured for enhanced early measurement reporting, and initiating the early measurement reporting measurements in response to determining to initiate the early measurement reporting measurements. In an additional example implementation, the method may include a network node transmitting enhanced early measurement reporting configuration to a user equipment and receiving early measurement reporting measurements from the user equipment. The early measurement reporting measurements performed at the user equipment based at least on the enhanced early measurement reporting configuration.

There are provided measures for enabling/realizing higher-layer beam management, e.g., beam failure detection or beam candidate detection in a higher layer such as a MAC entity. Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to partial integrity protection in telecommunication systems. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, there is provided a solution for implementing partial integrity protection. The terminal device receives configuration of the partial integrity protection and applies the integrity protection on a portion of data packets which are communicated between communication devices. In this way, the communication devices can always provide integrity protection for services, regardless of their bit rate. Thus, security of communication can be improved. It also allows to provide integrity protection with limited impacts to power consumption and overheating.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to for conditionally skipping monitoring of downlink control channel in random access. A first apparatus receives, from a second apparatus, a command indicating the first apparatus to skip monitoring a downlink control channel between the second apparatus and the first apparatus for a time period. The first apparatus initiates an RA procedure towards the second apparatus. The time period at least partially overlaps with a time window associated with the RA procedure and an end of the time period is after an end of the time window. The first apparatus determines whether the RA procedure is successfully completed or contention resolution for the RA procedure is successful. Based on the determination, the first apparatus ignores or performs the command after the end of the time window.

According to embodiments of the present disclosure, service-based retransmission scheme for uplink in NTN has been proposed, which can support multiple retransmission schemes based on service type for uplink. The network device determines different retransmission schemes based on the QoS requirements of the services. The terminal device selects the retransmission scheme for the service. In this way, the QoS of different service and reliability of MAC CE can be guaranteed.

Method for enabling secondary cell dormancy for user equipment power savings

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to beam reporting triggered by data transmission. A first device receives from a second device configuration information concerning at least one candidate beam for serving the first device. The first device determines whether data is available for transmission from the first device to the second device. If the data is available for transmission, the first device selects at least one first reference signal identifying the at least one candidate beam based on the configuration information. The first device transmits information concerning the selected at least one first reference signal to the second device.

In an aspect, a first device receives, from a second device, an indication to perform Msg3 transmission. The first device transmits, to the second device, information of the first device for contention resolution. In case a configuration of a 4-step random access channel is unavailable in an active bandwidth part for the first device, the first device determines a duration for monitoring a contention resolution message based on one of: a first configuration of a 2-step random access channel in the active bandwidth part, or a second configuration of a 4-step random access channel in a bandwidth part different from the active bandwidth part. In an aspect, a terminal device determines a short discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle and a long DRX cycle configured for the terminal device. Based on at least one of the short DRX cycle or the long DRX cycle, the terminal device determines at least one of (i) whether the terminal device is allowed to relax a measurement, or (ii) a relaxed evaluation period for the measurement. In this way, the UE behavior is predictable and thus communication efficiency or effectiveness in a communication system can be improved.
