A composite body 20 for a faucet assembly 21 that is mountable on a deck 62 and having a faucet body 22. The composite body 20 has a shank 66 affixed to the deck 62 and cold and hot water supply lines 38 that are connected in the shank 66 by a support plate 102 disposed therein. The faucet body 22 is connected to the shank 66 above the deck 62. The faucet body 22 has cold and hot water openings 32 and 34 therein to be sealingly engaged by the cold and hot water supply lines 38 upon the connection of the faucet body 22 and the shank 66 for the water in the lines 38 to be mixed in the faucet 21 and discharged therefrom. Lastly, a retention ring 90 is mounted over and covers the connection of the faucet body 22 and the shank 66 to prevent accidental disengagement and to limit relative movement therebetween.

Composite body faucet connection

A diverter valve for a faucet directs water to either the faucet spout or a spray nozzle. The faucet assembly of the present invention includes a shuttle chamber from which water may access either of two outlet paths. A poppet valve selectively enables water flow from the shuttle chamber to the outlet path leading to the faucet spout whenever the water pressure in the outlet path leading to the spray nozzle is greater than or equal to the pressure in the shuttle chamber. When the spray nozzle is actuated, pressure in the outlet path leading to the nozzle is relieved and the poppet valve closes off the outlet path leading to the faucet spout. A bypass channel is provided between the shuttle chamber and the outlet path leading to the spray nozzle, thereby allowing water to flow through the nozzle while it is actuated. A precision sized orifice in the bypass channel maintains the pressure differential acting on the poppet valve so that flow to the faucet spout remains cut off while the spray nozzle is actuated.

Fluid diverter

In a vandal resistant push-pull drain stopper for use with a drain plug of a bathtub or other similar vessel, there is provided a plunger having an inner cylindrical bore, a stem having a reduced portion, an expanded portion and a channeled portion, an O-ring snugly nestled between the stopper and the stem; a cap threadably engaged with the stopper and axially disposed about the upper region of the stem, the cap having a relief inside the hexagonal bore portion thereof so that the stopper freely rotates about the cap by discouraging removal of the cap from the drain stopper; the plunger having a seal radially disposed about the plunger so that when the stopper is in a closed position the seal abuts with the outer periphery of the drain plug thereby sealing the same. The reduced, expanded and channeled portion of the stem permit the drain plug to be open and closed by user and provide tactile 'snap in place feel' in the open and close positions while employing only, essentially, two moving parts.
