A press-fit window insert configured to provide secondary protection to an existing window, having a carrier, a fin, and a fastening clip. The carrier includes a substantially rigid framework having channels within the framework configured to securely accept one or more attachments. The fin extends from the carrier and includes a substantially flexible blade extending from a base portion of the fin. The base portion of the fin is configured to interlock the fin to the carrier. The fastening clip includes a substantially rigid brim extending from a base portion of the fastening clip. The base portion of the fastening clip is configured to interlock the fastening clip to the carrier.

Press-fit window insert

A system for mounting a panel within an existing window frame. The system includes an elongated fin portion and an elongated carrier. The fin portion has a ridge section, an extension extending from the base end of the ridge section, and a crosspiece coupled to a distal end of the extension. The ridge section tapers from its base end to a deflectable and compressible tip of the ridge section. The crosspiece includes a pair of shoulders at opposite ends of the crosspiece. Each shoulder protrudes laterally beyond the extension. The elongated carrier has a receiving slot opposite a panel gap. The receiving slot has a neck laterally narrower than an interior cavity of the receiving slot. The receiving slot is configured to securely receive the crosspiece of the bulb and to confine the shoulders of the crosspiece.

A system for mounting a panel within an existing window frame. The system includes an elongated deformable bulb, and an elongated carrier. The bulb has a resilient portion, a base section, an extension extending from the base section, and a crosspiece coupled to a distal end of the extension. The crosspiece includes a pair of shoulders at opposite ends of the crosspiece. Each shoulder protrudes laterally beyond the extension. The elongated carrier has a receiving slot opposite a panel gap. The receiving slot has a neck laterally narrower than an interior cavity of the receiving slot. The receiving slot is configured to securely receive the crosspiece of the bulb and to confine the shoulders of the crosspiece.

The receiving slot is configured to securely receive the crosspiece of the bulb and to confine the shoulders of the crosspiece.

A system for mounting a secondary panel within a window frame of an existing window. The system includes a rigid panel, an elongated deformable bulb, and an elongated carrier. The bulb has a resilient, rounded portion and a base section with at least one tongue extending from the base section. The carrier is configured to receive at least a portion of an edge of the panel within a panel gap and to receive, between opposing resilient prongs, the tongue of the bulb. The resilient prongs are configured to diverge to allow a distal end of the tongue to pass between the resilient prongs. Also disclosed is a system for mounting a flexible sheet within a window frame of an existing window.

The described lens assembly for use with a camera having a camera body includes a tilt assembly portion configured to allow pivotal movement of the lens body relative to the camera body. The lens assembly further includes a focus assembly configured to axially adjust a position of a removable optic assembly mounted to the focus assembly relative to the lens body to control focus of the lens assembly when the optic assembly is installed in the lens body. The lens body and focus assembly may be structured to remain coupled to the camera body after the optic assembly is removed from the focus assembly.

Movable lens assembly and associated methods

A lens assembly is provided for use with a camera having a camera body. The lens assembly in accordance with one embodiment comprises a lens body portion having camera mount configured to be connected to the camera body. A lens body is connected to the camera mount, and an adapter is connected to the lens body. An optic assembly is removably connected to the adapter and is axially moveable relative to the lens body. The optic assembly has a housing connectable to the adapter, and an optic is carried by the housing. The optic assembly is removable from the lens body portion while the lens body portion remains on the camera body. A focus assembly is coupled to the adapter and configured to axially adjust a position of the optic assembly relative to the lens body to control focus of the lens assembly when the optic assembly is installed in the lens body.

Described are a new type of storm windows, along with an easy way (and less expensive) of installing the press-fit storm window, on existing frames or windows, without the hassle and expense of replacing the whole window (to save time, cost, and inconvenience), to increase R-value (insulation efficiency) for the windows (i.e. reduce energy waste). This relates to the construction and installation and use of easily installed low cost interior or exterior storm windows, which are attractive and effective in reducing heat and noise transmission. Different approaches and variations to implement this are shown here.

Techniques in both still photography and moving picture photography can be enhanced with a lens system that includes a movable or flexible lens body carrying a lens. The lens body and lens can be moved to multiple user selected positions. The system further includes a retention device that is configured to retain the flexible lens body in the various user selected positions. In selected embodiments, the system includes an actuator for tilting the lens relative to a camera and/or for focusing the camera lens system.
