A dual roll laminating film cartridge refill for a reusable cartridge loadable in a laminating machine. The refill includes a first roll of continuous adhesive-coated translucent laminating film having a first axial end and a second axial end. The refill includes a second roll of continuous adhesive-coated translucent laminating film having a first axial end and a second axial end. A first connector couples the first axial ends of the first and second rolls at a predefined gap distance. A second connector is independent from and spaced from the first connector, the second connector coupling the second axial ends of the first and second rolls at the predefined gap distance. The first and second connectors are uniquely shaped and asymmetrical to provide a keyed interface to the reusable cartridge.

Refillable laminating film cartridge system and refill thereof

A laminating sheet includes a translucent ply and an adhesive coating applied to the translucent ply. The adhesive coating is activatable by at least one of pressure and heat and is provided on the translucent ply in a configuration providing at least one form of indicia that is visible prior to the adhesive being activated. A method of manufacturing a laminating sheet is also disclosed, whereby an adhesive coating activatable by at least one of pressure and heat is applied to a translucent ply and is configured to provide at least one form of visible indicia.

Laminating material and method of manufacturing

The invention includes a combination of coupling clip structure and a plurality of binding elements for binding stacks of perforated sheets for delivery to an automated machine. The combination comprises at least two binding elements, and at least one coupling clip discrete from said at least two binding elements. At least one of the coupling clip or the binding element(s) comprises at least one recess, at least a portion of at least one said binding element being disposed in said recess in the coupling clip and/or at least a portion of the coupling clip being disposed in said recess in the binding element, the coupling clip coupling the at least two binding elements together in a predetermined adjacent spatial relationship. The coupling clip may be separated from the binding elements by the automated machine. The invention further includes a method of coupling a plurality of binding elements together with at least one coupling clip for delivery to an automated machine.

Binding element

A plurality of binding elements, each of a substantially uniform thickness, the fingers being looped over and coupled to the spine such that the inner surface of the fingers is disposed against the inner surface of the spine by an adhesive when assembled. In an embodiment, at least a portion of the outer surface of the binding element is resistant to a more permanent attachment to the adhesive such that the plurality may be stacked together, and successively decoupled or removed for insertion into a stack. The binding elements may include score lines or bends in the fingers to provide a rounded closed loop structure; optional gussets in the bends inhibit straightening of the fingers. The fingers optionally include variations in cross-section along the length to relieve certain stresses to inhibit the looped finger. The binding elements optionally include structure for facilitating interaction with an automating binding process.

Binding elements and plurality of binding elements particularly suited for automated processes

A binding apparatus facilitates a convenient, one-stage load-and-close binding system. The apparatus has a base and a pivotable former door movable between open and closed positions. A series of hooks are provided to hold an open binder relative to the base for loading sheets onto the open binder ringlets. The apparatus has three former surfaces or bars, including parallel, opposed first and second former bars, as well as an adjacently-positioned third former bar oriented generally perpendicularly to the first and second former bars. Generally, the binding apparatus operates to squeeze a wire binder between the opposed first and second forming bars to close the wire ringlets. The free ends of the wire ringlets are maintained in proper alignment against the third former bar.

A die pin retainer subassembly for use in a die assembly that slidably engages with a die punching machine comprises an elongated retainer, which includes at least one hole for receiving a die pin, and an elongated retaining bar disposed over the enlarged head of the die pin. At least one of the retainers on the retaining bar is in the form of a channel and the retainer and the retaining bar are sized and configured to nest along the lateral direction to minimize any relative lateral movement.
