Embodiments include an energizing ring for setting a downhole seal includes a body having a varied cross-section along at least a portion of an axial length. The energizing ring also includes a plurality of peaks forming at least a portion of the varied cross-section having a first diameter. The energizing ring also includes a plurality of valleys forming at least a portion of the varied cross-section having a second diameter, the first diameter being larger than the second diameter, and respective valleys of the plurality of valleys being arranged proximate respective peaks of the plurality of peaks.

System and method for reducing setting loads

Embodiments include a system for setting a seal in a wellbore including a sabot arranged proximate the seal, the sabot being supported by the seal and having a first diameter larger than a second diameter of the seal. The system also includes a bridge coupled to the sabot and in contact with the seal, the bridge extending axially away from the sabot and positioned within a slot formed by an extension of the seal. The system also includes an energizing ring that drives legs of the seal radially outward, the energizing ring applying a radial force a leg proximate the sabot to at least partially deform the sabot

Centralizing and protecting sabot

An energizing ring for setting a downhole sealing element includes a passage extending through a width of the energizing ring and a wing extending radially outward from a body of the energizing ring, the wing includes a sealing arm coupled to the body at a joint and a slot arranged between at least a portion of the sealing arm and the body, wherein the sealing arm is configured to pivot relative to the joint in response to a fluid pressure within the cavity.

Pressure energized seal actuator ring

A bonnet assembly for assisting to move a valve stem to a retracted position includes a bonnet body. The bonnet body has a bonnet valve end selectively connected to a valve, a bonnet actuator end opposite the bonnet valve end selectively connected to a valve actuator. A valve stem extends through the central bore of the bonnet body. A booster piston seal circumscribes the valve stem and engages an inner diameter of the central bore. The booster piston seal selectively defines an extent of a pressure cavity containing pressure media. An effective stem pressure surface faces in a direction towards the valve and is in fluid communication with the valve when the bonnet body is connected to the valve. A booster pressure surface faces in a direction towards the valve when the bonnet body is connected to the valve and is selectively acted on by the pressure media.

Secondary thrust wireline shearing valve

A valve assembly includes a valve body with a flow passage intersected by a valve cavity. A valve member is axially movable in the valve cavity between a closed position and an open position, the valve member having an opening that registers with the flow passage when the valve member is in the open position. A valve stem is threadingly connected to the valve member, the valve stem rotatable to move the valve member between the closed position and the open position. A collar assembly is located within a slot of the valve member and circumscribes the valve stem, the collar assembly having an annular collar shoulder. The valve stem has an annular load shoulder sized to engage the collar shoulder, limiting axial movement of the valve member.
