The present invention provides a fluid flow control valve for regulating the flow of fluid, and a method for assembling the valve. The fluid flow control valve includes a housing having a generally spherical exterior portion sized to pivotally cooperate within a coupling oriented at an opening of a pressurized fluid duct. A control member is provided having a retaining member received within an outlet end of a central bore of the housing. The control member is provided with a knob for manual rotation. A closure member is threadably engaged within the housing or the control member and is fixed for axial translation relative to the other. The closure member is further adapted to sealingly engage with an inlet end of the housing central bore. Rotation of the control member provides axial displacement to the closure member for varying flow of fluid therethrough.

The present invention provides a flame resistant LED construction. The flame resistant LED construction of this embodiment comprises a substrate, one or more LEDs that emits light mounted on the substrate, and an intumescent material adjacent to the LEDs. The positioning of the intumescent material is such that at least a portion of the light emitted from the LEDs is unobstructed. Moreover, a sufficient amount of the intumescent material is in proximity to the LEDs that a flame on the LEDs is extinguished by the expansion of the intumescent material. The present invention also provides an LED construction in which a sufficient amount of the intumescent material is in proximity to the LEDs such that a temperature greater than or equal to about 250&#xb0; F. causes the intumescent material to expand and form an insulating char which at least partially encompasses the one or more LEDs. Also provide by the invention is a method for making the LED construction of the invention.

Extruded polymeric articles useful for supporting, acoustically isolating and vibrationally dampening a pipe segment in relation to a structural support member, the articles having coextruded unfoamed and foamed polymeric layers and being attachable to the structural support member using nails, screws, formed wire hangers or other similarly effective fasteners. A method for making the subject articles and a system comprising a perforated, coextruded acoustic pipe support strap in combination with a shaped wire hanger for use in suspending a pipe segment from the web portion of a laminated joist having an I-beam cross section are also disclosed.

A snap-action piloted fill valve for controlling the level in a liquid storage tank, the valve having a float and a weight cup that are adjustably interconnected by an elongated sleeve slidably disposed on a stem extending upwardly from a valve body mounted inside a tank, the weight cup being further connected to a snap-action beam attached to the valve body. The snap-action beam controls operation of a pilot, which in turn causes the fill valve to open when the beam is in its upward position and to close when the beam is in its downward postion. Use as a toilet valve is also disclosed.

A tub waste overflow assembly that is attachable to a tub wall by means of a threaded retaining body insertable through an overflow drain aperture in a tub wall to engage a cooperatively threaded pipe fitting on the opposite side of the tub wall. A chamfered washer is provided to cooperate with the retaining body and an annular sealing gasket to produce a fluid-tight seal on the interior surface of the tub wall. A forwardly projecting fulcrum member on the pipe fitting preferably contacts the exterior tub wall outwardly of the aperture to facilitate connection of a drain pipe to tub walls over a range of included angles, and no seal is required around the overflow drain aperture on the exterior tub wall. A unitarily molded, knock-out test plug is provided across the bore of the retaining body and a handle desirably attached to the test plug projects into the tub to facilitate installation.

An air control valve unit which includes an axially moveable and non-rotating closure member which is responsive to the rotative and non-axial movement of an actuator. The rotative movement of the actuator moves the closure member between a closed position which creates an airtight seal between the closure member and a plurality of open positions each allowing progressive amounts of air to flow from an air source through the valve unit member in fluid communication with the closure member. The closure member and actuator are supported in a cavity of the housing member.
