Implant systems and methods treatment of a joint include a distal portion, a middle portion, and a proximal portion. The distal portion may include a thread having a first thread minor, a first thread major, and a first pitch. The distal portion also may have a reverse cut, helical fenestration formed through the thread. The middle portion may be devoid of threads and may include a porous outer surface structure to promote bony integration, the porous outer surface structure having a leading end and a trailing end, with the leading end having a diameter larger than the first thread minor. The proximal portion may include a proximal thread having a second thread minor, a second thread major, and a second pitch. The second thread minor may be substantially the same width as the trailing end of the middle portion.

Implant system and method for joint fusion

An interbody device configured for insertion between adjacent vertebrae includes a body comprising and exterior surface and an interior surface defining a cavity. The body comprises a visualization window extending between the exterior surface and the interior surface, where the visualization window comprises a lattice of radiopaque structures. A density of the lattice in a central region of the visualization window is less than in the density of the lattice in an outer region of the visualization window such that the visualization window is radiolucent through the central region.

Spinal interbody devices with density gradients and associated methods

A composite interbody device for use with spinal fusion surgery is described herein. The composite interbody device comprises a central body made from a radiolucent biocompatible polymer (e.g., PEEK or UHMWPE) and metallic plates, which are placed at the superior and inferior surfaces of the central body. The metallic plates are comprised of an end plate that is adjacent to a vertebral body and an intermediate plate that is adjacent to the central body. The end plates may have one or more arrays of apertures to facilitate bone growth into the end plates to secure the interbody device within the intervertebral space. The intermediate plates may also have one or more arrays of apertures to allow the central body to bond to the end plates through compression molding, injection molding, and/or heat molding. The arrays of apertures in the end plates are not aligned with the arrays of apertures in the intermediate plates so that polymer material of the central body will not penetrate into the end plate, where bone growth is encouraged, and vice versa.

Composite spinal interbody device and method

A pedicle screw with reverse spiral cut that allows for increased loading on a bone and increased osteointegration through automatic and self-managed expansion after the bone screw is inserted into the bone. The bone screw may be a fixation device comprising an elongated body having proximal and distal ends, said elongated body including an outer surface adapted to penetrate and anchor within a bone, and a head affixed to the distal end of the elongated body and adapted to receive a drive component, wherein the outer surface of the elongated body comprises threads extending from the outer surface in a first direction, and further wherein at least a portion of the outer surface of the elongated body comprises a reverse spiral cut into the outer surface in a second direction.

Pedicle screw with reverse spiral cut and methods thereof

The present disclosure relates, in some embodiments, to spinal fixation systems that may comprise a bone screw, a body, and a pressure cap. A bone screw may comprise a head at a proximal end, a bone connection element at a distal end, and an external protrusion on a head of a bone screw. A body may comprise a proximal end, a distal end, a mounting rod receiving channel at a proximal end, and a bone screw head receiving channel at a distal end. A portion of the mounting rod receiving channel may be operable to receive a compression element. A pressure cap may comprise a proximal end, distal end, and an internal recess on a distal end. An internal recess may be configured to mate with an external protrusion of a bone screw so as to limit the movement of a bone screw.
