An air bubbling mat, which may be placed in the bottom a bath tub, provides a turbulence within the water. The mat includes three hinged or plugged in, and hollow blow molded sections with depressions on one side to form air passage ways through the hollow bath mat. In one embodiment, short sections of convoluted hose interconnect the three sections at the hinge. In another embodiment, plug-in connectors provide communication for pressurized air between said sections. This embodiment may also include a latch means to secure the mats together. An input port is centrally formed on at least one edge of the center section to give a better distribution of air within the air passage ways and to drain the mat. On the opposite side, a centrally located port may be provided in most embodiments to make a connection for attachments.

An air bubbling mat, which may be placed in the bottom a bath tub, provides a turbulence within the water. A cartridge for a water filter system has a closed housing with only an inlet and an outlet formed in the lower surface thereof. A discharge tube extends from the outlet at the bottom, through the housing, to a position near the top of the housing. There, an elongated sleeve of filter material filters the water leaving the housing. The space between the inlet and the filter sleeve is filled with three different filter materials, most of which is activated charcoal.

An improved footstool has a heating element and a vibrating element in a cushion and adapts for use in a plurality of configurations. The cushion is releasably fastened to a base of the footstool for use alone, and the legs of the footstool retract for use of the footstool in an inclined position as well as an upright position.

The improved portable hydrotherapy bath assembly disclosed is designed for mounting on the side wall of a conventional bathtub and includes a motor housing, an overhead support housing and a pump housing. The motor, pump and overhead support housings are made as a single integral unit with their upper ends being closed by a cover. The motor housing is adapted to be disposed without the bathtub, the overhead support housing is adapted to rest on the tub side wall and pump housing is adapted to be disposed within the tub, with its lower end adapted to be immersed within the water in the tub. A pumping chamber is mounted on the lower end of the pump housing and includes an impeller means whose drive shaft is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the pump housing. An electric motor is mounted within the motor housing and is directly operatively connected with a rotary shaft journaled in the overhead support housing. Pulleys are mounted on this rotary shaft and on the drive shaft of the impeller means, and an endless belt operatively connects the pulleys. The pumping chamber includes horizontally disposed, diametrically oppositely directed first and second discharge ports. A unique rotary valve member is positioned within the pumping chamber for selectively controlling the discharge of water, under pressure, through either the first discharge port or the second discharge port. The rotary valve is actuated by a control knob mounted on the side wall of the pump housing facing away from the side wall of the bathtub. The axes about which the rotary valve and control knob are rotated are coaxial with the longitudinal axis of the drive shaft of the impeller means.

An improved retainer clamp is disclosed for selectively and securely supporting a handheld showerhead so to as prevent any accidental dislodgement of the showerhead from the retainer clamp. The handheld showerhead is adapted to be connected, via a flexible conduit, with a source of water under pressure, such as the conventional shower pipe fitting normally found in bathrooms and the like, and may be supported by retainer clamp both while water is being sprayed from the showerhead and when the showerhead is not in use. The retainer clamp may be directly mounted on the shower fitting pipe and also may serve as the interconnection between the flexible conduit and the shower fitting pipe.

The improved showerhead disclosed herein includes at least two, and preferably four, separate spray nozzles and is constructed so as to permit users to select the particular spray nozzle through which water is to be discharged. The showerhead may be mounted on the end of a conventional shower arm extending from a wall or may be held in the user's hand and connected with a source of water by a flexible conduit. The showerhead comprises a housing having disc member and dial assembly mounted thereon. The dial assembly includes the spray nozzles, and the selection of a particular spray nozzle is achieved by manually rotating the dial assembly, with respect to the disc member and housing, about its central axis. A novel 'butterfly' seal is disposed between the disc member and the dial assembly. A latch is mounted on the housing and cooperates with the dial assembly to retain the dial assembly in its proper position with respect to the disc member. The latch also serves as an indicator to enable the user of the showerhead to know where to position the dial assembly, with respect to the disc member and housing, so that water will be sprayed through a particular spray nozzle. The structure of one of the spray nozzles, when utilized in cooperation with the disc member, provides a pulsating, invigorating spray.

A portable whirlpool or hydrotherapy bath assembly of the type which mounts on the upper edge of the wall of a bath tub. The assembly includes a motor housing, a spaced generally upright pump housing, and an overhead support which is secured to the upper ends of both housings. The pump drive shaft is mounted in an upright position in the pump housing. Means are provided for rotatably mounting the pump housing to the overhead support for rotation about the axis of the drive shaft. A pump impeller is mounted on the lower end of the drive shaft in a pump chamber which is unitary with the pump housing. A water inlet is positioned at the lower central portion thereof. A water volume control is provided for adjusting the volume of water passing through the water inlet. The pump impeller raises the pressure of the water and the pressurized water is passed through the water outlet which is unitary with the pump housing and is rotatable with the pump housing for changing the direction of pressurized water flowing from the outlet. Means are provided for mixing air with the pressurized water for aeration thereof. Control means are provided for varying the volume of air mixed with the water. A flexible hose may be connected to the water outlet, and alternatively, more than one such hose may be connected to the water outlet. A nozzle is connected to the outer end of each hose and is used to direct pressurized water to a localized part of the user's body.
