The invention relates to a resin composition comprising a blend of: a) 10 to 90% by weight of at least one fluoropolymer resin and b) 90 to 10% by weight of at least one semi-crystalline polyester resin, based on the total weight of the fluoropolymer resin and semi-crystalline polymer resin. The invention also relates to a method for producing such resin composition, to a powder coating composition comprising such resin composition and to the use of such resin composition, in particular for architectural powder coating.

The invention relates to an object or object part made from a composition comprising at least one fluoropolymer F, wherein: &#x2014;the at least one fluoropolymer F comprises vinylidene fluoride units and at least 30 wt. % of units derived from at least one monomer of formula (I): (I) CXX&#x2550;CXY, wherein each of X, Xand Xis independently selected from H, Cl, F, Br, I and alkyl groups comprising from 1 to 3 carbon atoms which are optionally partly or fully halogenated and Y is an alkyl group comprising from 1 to 3 carbon atoms which is optionally partly or fully halogenated; &#x2014;the proportion of the at least one fluoropolymer F in the composition is at least 80 wt. %; and&#x2014;the viscosity of the composition is at least 1000 Pa&#xb7;s at a temperature of 230&#xb0; C. and at a shear rate of 100 s1.

The present invention relates to a process for producing a stable fluorinated latex by emulsion polymerization in the absence of fluorinated surfactant, stabilized by an amphiphilic block copolymer formed in situ. Synthesis of surfactant-free poly (vinylidene fluoride) latexes via raft emulsion polymerization

A polyamide-grafted polyolefin composition in which the grafting rate of the composition is between 41% and 70% by weight. Also, a thermoplastic composition including a polyolefin backbone comprising a residue of at least one unsaturated monomer (X) and a plurality of polyamide grafts, in which: the polyamide grafts are attached to the polyolefin backbone by the residue of the unsaturated monomer (X) comprising a functional group capable of reacting by a condensation reaction with a polyamide having at least one amine end and/or at least one carboxylic acid end, the residue of the unsaturated monomer (X) is attached to the backbone by grafting or copolymerization, wherein the polyamide grafts represent from 41% to 70%, preferably from 45% to 70%, by mass of said polyamide-grafted polymer. Also, a thermoplastic film for encapsulating and/or protecting the back ('backsheet') of a photovoltaic module that includes said polyamide-grafted polyolefin composition.

The use of a polymeric composition as an encapsulant in a photovoltaic module, said polymeric composition including a copolymer that comprises an ethylene monomer and a carboxylic acid vinyl ester comonomer, in particular an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, and the polymeric composition having a Brookfield viscosity measured at 120&#xb0; C. of between 10,000 mPa&#xb7;s and 25,000 mPa&#xb7;s. An adhesive composition that can be used in an extrusion-coating process for application to a support or in an extrusion-laminating process in order to bond several supports of different or identical nature to one another, over a wide temperature range, including: from 91% to 98% by weight of the composition, of a copolymer of ethylene and of alkyl acrylate; at least one tackifying resin; processing aids, wherein the tackifying resin represents between 1.5% and 5.5% of the weight of the composition and the processing aids represent between 0.5% and 3.5% of the weight of the composition and the anti-blocking agent represents, in the processing aids, at least 60% by weight of the aids. Also, a film of the composition and a multilayer structure that includes this film.

Adhesive sealing composition

A thermoplastic composition including a mixture of three particular and different polyolefins, including one of a polyamide-grafted polyolefin having particular polyamide grafts (type and quantity), for example, a polyamide-grafted polymer having a polyolefin trunk containing a residue of at least one unsaturated monomer and a plurality of polyamide grafts. Also, a thermoplastic film and, more specifically, a film for encapsulating a photovoltaic module incorporating the polyamide-grafted polyolefin composition.

Thermoplastic composition, in particular for photovoltaic modules

The invention relates to a multi-layer weatherable film structure having an outer layer of a highly weatherable film, a layer having a high thermal deformation temperature, an optional tie layer, and a thin layer of polyolefin or polyamide. The highly weatherable film layer preferably is polyvinylidene fluoride. The polyolefin or polyamide layer is less than 500 microns in thickness, and preferably the whole film structure is less than 750 microns thick. The polyolefinjpolyamide side of the film structure can easily be adhered to many different substances&#x2014;especially polyolefins and polyamides. This film can be used to provide a highly weatherable protective layer a substrate. One useful application for the film is in a photovoltaic module to protect the back side of the module from weathering and abrasion. The multi-layer film structure can be adhered to a typical polyolefin-based encapsulant layer and used as a backsheet encapsulant in a photovoltaic module.

Multilayer polyvinylidene films structures

The invention relates to a method for production of grafted polyethylene comprising the following steps: a) fermentation of primary renewable material with optional purification to give at least one alcohol chosen from ethanol or a mixture of alcohols comprising ethanol; b) dehydration of the alcohol obtained to give in a first reactor at least one alkene selected from ethylene and mixtures of alkenes containing ethylene and optional purification of the alkene to give ethylene; c) polymerization, in a second reactor, of the ethylene to give polyethylene; d) isolation of the polyethylene obtained in step c); e) grafting the polyethylene with at least one grafting monomer selected from the unsaturated carboxylic acids or theifunctional derivatives thereof, the unsaturated dicarboxylic acids having 4-10 carbon atoms and the functional derivatives thereof being C-Calkyl esters or glycidyl ester derivatives of the unsaturated carboxylic acids and the metal salts of the unsaturated carboxylic acids. The invention further relates to the grafted polyethylene obtained by said method, the copolymers and compositions comprising said polyethylene and the use of said polyethylene.

Production of grafted polyethylene from renewable materials, the obtained polyethylene and uses thereof

The invention relates to the use in a photovoltaic module of a film of a composition as a backsheet or as an encapsulant, this composition comprising, with respect to the total weight of the composition: from 1 to 99% of a polyethylene having an ethylene whose level by weight is greater than or equal to 80% chosen from the homopolymers of ethylene and the copolymers of ethylene and another alpha-olefin; from 99 to 1% of a polyolefin B, other than A, carrying a reactive functional group X chosen from the anhydride carboxylic acids and epoxides. The invention further relates to a photovoltaic module comprising the film of the composition according to the invention and also a process for the manufacture of this module.

Use of a polethylene-based film in a photovoltaic module

The invention relates to coextrusion binders including renewable and/or biodegradable polymers having good adhesion properties: at least one renewable and/or biodegradable polymer (A) grafted with a functional monomer including at least one reactive function, the grafting ratio being &#x3c;1% in weight of the grafted polymer (A); at least one non-grafted renewable and/or biodegradable polymer (B) identical to (A) or compatible with (A) optionally a softener (C); and optionally a starch-based material (D). The invention also relates to multilayered structures including the binder of the present invention, in which the layers are preferably made of renewable and/or biodegradable compounds. The multilayered structures are advantageously useful in the field of food packaging.

The present invention relates to olefin polymers having associative groups containing nitrogen heterocyclic compounds, to hot-melt adhesives including such polymers, and to method for producing same. Specifically, the invention relates to a polymer comprising units from ethylene and from a monomer having associative groups, said monomer including a polymerizing reactive group and an associative group containing nitrogen heterocyclic compounds.

Olefin polymers having associative groups, and adhesives containing same

The invention relates to a binding agent comprising a mixture of a carboxylic acid vinyl ethylene ester copolymer (A) and a polyolefin (B) containing a functional monomer (X), the mass ratio B/(A+B) being between 0.05 and 1. Said binder has very good adhesion properties for adhering to a number of supports in photovoltaic modules, in addition to satisfactory transparency and electrical resistivity properties for the advantageous use of the binder in said module.

The invention relates to a polymer obtained by polymerizing olefins having 6 to 9 carbon atoms and partially derived from renewable resources. In particular, the polymer according to the invention can be derived from vegetable oil or animal fat. The invention also relates to the method for producing the polymer.

The invention relates to an adhesive composition comprising, relative to its total weight: from 1 to 40% of a polyethylene (A) grafted with a functional monomer or a blend of a polyethylene (A1) with a second polymer (A2) different from (A1), said blend of (A1) and (A2) being co-grafted with an unsaturated functional monomer, the content by weight of unsaturated functional monomer relative to (A) being in the range from 30 to 100000 ppm; from 25 to 98% of a non-grafted polyethylene (B) having a density in the range from 0.900 to 0.965; from 1 to 35% of an elastomeric product (C). The invention also relates to a multilayer structure comprising this composition, said structure being able to serve as protection of metal tubes used for the fabrication of oil pipelines and gas pipelines.
