A game for multiple players having an instruction unit and a plurality of game cards each having gameplay indicia disposed thereon. The instruction unit includes a mechanical number selection device, such as a Pop-O-Matic type die agitator, configured to randomly select one of a plurality of available numbers for the game, a first input device operatively connected to the mechanical number selection device and responsive to actuation of the mechanical number selection device, and a first output device, such as single or multicolored LEDs and/or a speaker. The instruction unit is actuated by a player actuating the mechanical number selection device and the detection of the actuation of the mechanical number selection device by the first input device. The instruction unit selects one of a plurality of colors associated with the game in response to the actuation of the mechanical number selection device, and causes the first output device to provide a sensory perceptible output corresponding to the color selected by the instruction unit.

Game having an electronic instruction unit with a mechanical die agitator

A multiplayer game in which players are dealt cards from a deck of game cards having indicia thereon corresponding to combinations typically used in the traditional Yahtzee game that are to be matched by the dice rolls of the players. During the course of a player's turn, the player actuates an instruction unit to start a timer setting a time limit within which the player rolls the dice multiple times in an effort to match one of the combinations on the cards in the player's hand. If the player matches a combination on one of the cards, the player actuates the instruction unit a second time to stop the timer and to receive a win instruction from the instruction unit. If the player does not match any of the combinations on the cards within the time limit, the instruction unit outputs a loss instruction to be followed by the player. The sequence may continue until one player has discarded all of the game cards in the player's hand onto the discard pile.

Described is a game including a base unit, a target area, a launch area, and an electronic controller. The target area is attached to the base unit and has multiple target sections. The launch area is attached to the base and is configured for bouncing a playing piece into one of the multiple target sections. The electronic controller is configured to monitor the target sections and control game play.
