Method and apparatus for secure access control in wireless communications are disclosed. In an example, a method includes receiving a broadcast message including system information, identifying a first set of hashed identifiers (IDs) and a first random number based on the system information, and each ID of the first set of hashed IDs is individually hashed using at least the first random number. The method also includes calculating a first hash value for each ID of a second set of IDs using at least the first random number, determining whether at least a hashed ID of the second set of IDs matches a hashed ID of the first set of hashed IDs, and sending a request message based on a determination that at least a hashed ID of the second set of IDs matches a hashed ID of the first set of hashed IDs.

Methods and apparatus for secure access control in wireless communications

Methods and apparatuses are described herein for registration and security for wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) with multiple universal subscriber identity modules (USIMs). Optimized registration and authentication procedures, that enable a WTRU to register and authenticate multiple USIMs during one registration and authentication procedure are described herein. The techniques described herein may eliminate the need for separate registration and authentication procedures for each USIM. A gateway device may inform the network in a Registration Request message that it is registering multiple devices (i.e., multiple WTRUs). The network and the gateway may then perform an authentication procedure with an aggregate challenge/response (i.e., a single challenge for each WTRU). A WTRU may inform the network in a Registration Request message that it is registering multiple USIMs. The network and the WTRU may then perform an authentication procedure with an aggregate challenge/response (i.e., a single challenge for all USIMs).

Registration and security enhancements for a WTRU with multiple USIMs

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are provided for vehicle to everything (V2X) service oriented link establishment. A first wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may broadcast a direct communication request message. The direct communication request message may include a first security context identifier (ID). The first WTRU may receive a direct security mode command message from a second WTRU. The direct security mode command message may include a second security context ID. The first WTRU may determine a third security context ID by combining the first security context ID and the second security context ID. The first WTRU may establish, using the third security context ID, a secure direct communication link with the second WTRU. The first WTRU may generate, based on the third security context ID, a security context entry for the secure direct communication link with the second WTRU.

Procedures enabling V2X unicast communication over PC5 interface

Methods and apparatuses directed to non-access stratum procedures in connection with layer 2 relaying are provided. A method implemented in a first WTRU, may comprise: receiving, from a second WTRU, a first sidelink transmission comprising a first information indicating an amount of time for the first WTRU to refrain from transmitting, to the second WTRU; determining to reselect to a third WTRU responsive to receiving the first information and based on a second sidelink transmission from the third WTRU; reselecting or autonomous reselecting to the third WTRU; establishing a connection with the third WTRU; and transmitting, to the third WTRU, a third sidelink transmission comprising a second information indicating congestion as a cause for the reselection.

Methods and apparatuses directed to non-access stratum procedures in connection with layer 2 relaying

Systems and methods are described herein for handling connection rejects via a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU)-to-WTRU (U2U) relay associated with backoff times on behalf of a source end WTRU. A relay WTRU may retry to establish connection with a target WTRU on behalf of a source WTRU, for example, based on receiving a rejection (e.g., with a backoff value) from the target WTRU. The source WTRU may associate the reject message to the target WTRU, and the relay WTRU may be available to reach other target WTRUs. The relay WTRU may send a reject message to other source WTRUs (e.g., if the back off duration is active, running) for the same target WTRU.

Handling connection rejections via U2U relay associated with backoff times on behalf of a source end WTRU

Systems, methods and instrumentalities are described herein that provide security and/or privacy support for wireless transmit receive units (WTRUs) communicating via a WTRU to WTRU relay. A source WTRU may obtain a new IP address from a relay WTRU via a link identifier update request. The source WTRU may indicate to the relay WTRU which one or more target WTRUs are to be informed of the new IP address. The source WTRU may indicate to the relay WTRU whether the target WTRU's ID(s) should be changed. The relay WTRU may send the source WTRU's new IP address to authorized target WTRUs. The source, relay, and target WTRU may use tokens to grant or receive authorizations for sharing each other's IP addresses.

Security and privacy support for direct wireless communications

Method, apparatus and systems are disclosed that may be implemented in wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and/or a UAV-controller (UAV-C). In one representative method, the UAV may switch from a first Command and Control (C2) communication link between a UAV and a first UAV-C to a second C2 communication link for C2 communications. The method may include determining, by the WTRU, to switch C2 communications from the first C2 communication link to the second C2 communication link based on a C2 switching condition; sending, by the WTRU to a C2 control entity, a notification indicating link information used to determine switching from the first C2 communication link to the second C2 communication link; receiving, by the WTRU from the C2 control entity, information indicating a switch; and switching, by the WTRU, C2 communications from the first C2 communication link to the second C2 communication link.

Methods, apparatus and systems for command and control (C2) communications setup and update

Methods, apparatus, and systems for a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) performing relay communications are provided. A method may include receiving a first message indicating: (1) a first security policy associated with a first data link, and (2) a maximum data rate for integrity protection (MDRIP) supported by the remote WTRU; transmitting, to a network, a second message indicating: (1) an MDRIP supported by the remote WTRU or by the relay WTRU, and (2) a request for PDU session establishment; receiving, from the network, a third message indicating a second security policy for a second data link; and establishing the first data link with the remote WTRU on the condition that an end-to-end (e2e) security policy is compatible with the second security policy, wherein the e2e security policy is determined according to the second security policy and a UP security policy of the relay WTRU.

Methods, apparatus, and systems for communications security with proximity services relay WTRU

A reader device may receive a request including a permanent device identifier (PDI) for an ambient-power-enabled internet of things (AIoT) device. The reader device may generate an encrypted temporary device identifier (ETDI) based on application of an encryption algorithm to the PDI. Further, the reader device may obtain a short-ETDI based on application of a bitmask to the ETDI. Also, the reader device may transmit, over a radio interface, a trigger message including the short-ETDI to the AIoT device. Moreover, the reader device may receive, over the radio interface, a random access (RA) response message including the short-ETDI from the AIoT device. In an example, the request may be an inventory request, and the inventory request may be received from an AIoT function. Further, the request may include an indication that encryption is supported by the AIoT device.

Methods and apparatus for an ambient internet of things (IoT) temporary identifier at a reader

A relay node may detect conflicts regarding media access control (MAC) addresses. A target node may receive a request from the relay node. The request may comprise a request to establish communications with the target node. The target node may send, to the relay node, an indication of the MAC address of the target node. The target may receive a link release message from the relay node. The link release message may comprise an indication of conflict associated with the MAC address of the target node.

Wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) to WTRU relay media access control (MAC) access conflict support

Methods and apparatuses are described herein for proximity-based services (ProSe) service-based discovery. For example, a service utilizing-wireless transmit/receive unit (SU-WTRU) may be provisioned with a type of discovery on a per-service basis and a security credential on a per-service basis. The SU-WTRU may transmit () a PC5 discovery message with the type of discovery and a first security element that is generated based on the security credential. The WTRU may then receive (), from a service providing-wireless transmit/receive unit (SP-WTRU), a PC5 discovery response message that includes a second security element and a service identity associated with a service that the SP-WTRU provides. On a condition that the second security element is verified based on the provisioned security credential, the SU-WTRU may authorize () the SP-WTRU to establish a PC5 communication link with the SP-WTRU.

V2X Enhancements to support V2P communication are disclosed. In particular, Vehicle to Pedestrian Communications are provided. Methods and apparatus for direct link with a peer WTRU using a first key identifier of a root key are provided. In an embodiment, a method includes sending, by the initiating WTRU to the peer WTRU, a release request message to release the direct link with the peer WTRU, the release request message including information indicating first security information associated with a second key identifier of the root key. The method further includes receiving a response to the release request message including second security information associated with the second key identifier of the root key. The method also includes determining the second key identifier of the root key using the first security information and the second security information; and sending a message including information indicating the second key identifier of the root key.

Methods, apparatus and systems using vehicle-to-everything (V2X) enhancements to support vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P) communication

In an implementation, a second device, for example a second WTRU, may receive a Link Modification Request (LMR) message from a first device, for example a first WTRU, via a first relay. The LMR message may include one or more new MSBs for a new Key NR ProSe identifier (KNRP ID). The second WTRU may send a link modification accept (LMA) message to the first WTRU via the first relay. The LMA message may include one or more new LSBs for the new KNRP ID. The second WTRU may form the new KNRP ID by combining the one or more new MSBs with the one or more new LSBs and replacing an existing KNRP ID with the new KNRP ID. The second WTRU may also receive a direct connection request (DCR) message from the first WTRU via a second relay. The DCR message may include the new KNRP ID.

Methods for privacy protection using coordination of initial connection release during relay reselection

Methods, devices, and systems for changing a layer 2 (L2) identifier (ID) during an ongoing vehicle-to-everything (V2X) session between a source wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a peer WTRU include communicating between the source and a peer WTRUs based on an existing layer 2 (L2) identifier (ID). On a condition that a trigger event occurs, the source WTRU generates a new source L2 ID, communicates the new source L2 ID to the peer WTRU, receives from the peer WTRU a message that responds to the new source L2 ID, and communicates between the source WTRU and the peer WTRU based on the new source L2 ID.

Procedures enabling privacy for WTRUs using PC5 communication

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed that are associated with cellular communications for unmanned aerial vehicles and associated devices. A WTRU may initiate multiple PDU sessions. The WTRU may initiate a first protocol data unit (PDU) session. The WTRU may receive one or more session parameters for a second PDU session. The one or more session parameters for the second PDU session may be received via the first PDU session. The WTRU may initiate the second PDU session using the one or more session parameters (e.g., based on an authentication and authorization associated with the first PDU session being successful). The WTRU may send or receive an operation communication via the second PDU session. The operation communication may comprise an unmanned aerial vehicle command and control message or an unmanned aerial vehicle payload message.
