A multisiphon passive cooling system includes a heat exchanger thermally connected to a heat-generating component located within an enclosure, a distribution manifold located below the heat exchanger, a condensing unit located external to the enclosure and above the heat exchanger, and a first conduit thermally connected to the heat exchanger. The first conduit is fluidly connected to the distribution manifold and the condensing unit. The cooling system also includes a second conduit fluidly connected to the condensing unit and the distribution manifold, a liquid bridge fluidly connected to the first conduit and the second conduit or the distribution manifold, and a two-phase cooling medium that circulates through a loop defined by the first conduit, the liquid bridge, the condensing unit, the second conduit, the heat exchanger, and the distribution manifold. As such, the liquid bridge transfers the cooling medium in a liquid state from the first conduit to the second conduit or the distribution manifold.

The present disclosure relates to louvers for enabling an air passage between an outside and an inside. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to louvers enabling said air passage while minimizing rain ingress towards an interior and minimizing noise produced in the interior. The present disclosure further relates to wind turbines including said louvers.

Ceramic matrix composite (CMC) airfoils and methods for forming CMC airfoils are provided. In one embodiment, an airfoil is provided that includes opposite pressure and suction sides extending radially along a span and opposite leading and trailing edges extending radially along the span. The leading edge defines a forward end of the airfoil, and the trailing edge defines an aft end of the airfoil. A trailing edge portion is defined adjacent the trailing edge at the aft end, and a pocket is defined in and extends within the trailing edge portion. A heat pipe is received in the pocket. A method for forming an airfoil is provided that includes laying up a CMC material to form an airfoil preform assembly; processing the airfoil preform assembly; defining a pocket in a trailing edge portion of the airfoil; and inserting a heat pipe into the pocket.

A control method for dynamically controlling active and reactive power capability of a wind farm includes obtaining one or more real-time operating parameters of each of the wind turbines. The method also includes obtaining one or more system limits of each of the wind turbines. Further, the method includes measuring at least one real-time wind condition at each of the wind turbines. Moreover, the method includes continuously calculating an overall maximum active power capability and an overall maximum reactive power capability for each of the wind turbines as a function of the real-time operating parameters, the system limits, and/or the real-time wind condition. Further, the method includes generating a generator capability curve for each of the wind turbines using the overall maximum active and reactive power capabilities and communicating the generator capability curves to a farm-level controller of the wind farm that can use the curves to maximize the instantaneous power output of the wind farm.

Systems and devices for thermodynamically regulating portions of a dynamoelectric machine are disclosed. In one embodiment, a fan assembly element includes: an axially inner shroud segment configured to form a portion of an annular assembly about a rotor of a dynamoelectric machine, wherein the axially inner shroud segment includes a rotor hub interface configured to physically connect to a complementary portion of a rotor hub; a set of fan blades physically connected to and extending axially from a face of the axially inner shroud segment; and an axially outer shroud segment physically connected to the set of fan blades.

In one aspect, a pair of stator flanges each disposed at opposing ends of a stator core assembly maintains a compressive load on the stator core assembly. Systems are disclosed that assist in cooling generator rotor coils. In one embodiment, the system includes a stator; a rotor positioned within the stator, the rotor having: a spindle; groups of coils disposed about the spindle, each of the groups of coils including a plurality of ducts; a plurality of subslots disposed about the spindle, each of the plurality of subslots extending between the spindle and one of the groups of coils, wherein each of the plurality of subslots is in fluid communication with the one of the groups of coils; and a first baffle disposed in one of the plurality of subslots for directing a coolant into at least one of the plurality of ducts.

A cooling flow bifurcation member is positioned in an outside radial flow passage of a generator between an end portion of a stator core and a stator flange. The flow bifurcation member includes a main body portion having a tapered surface that transforms a first flow having a first velocity passing into the outside radial flow passage into at least one other flow having another velocity.
