A separation device having a housing () with a feed conduit () and a reject conduit (), between which conduits () and an accept conduit () of the housing () is a rotor unit () having a shaft () transverse to the through-flow direction of the separation device, which shaft rotates discs () attached to the shaft (), the outer surface and/or side surfaces of which discs are jagged, i.e. they have protrusions () and/or notches and/or these surfaces are substantially rough and the teeth () of at least two sieves () attached to the housing (), extend between the discs (), the first sieve () being between the reject conduit () and the accept conduit () and the second sieve () being between the feed conduit () and the accept conduit ().

Separation device

In a screening device, a rotor element on a rotor coaxial with a cylindrical screen drum and a cylindrical screen including: an upper surface and a front face between the surface of the rotor and the upper surface, wherein the front face faces upstream into pulp flow through a gap between the screen drum and the cylindrical screen; a trailing surface extending downstream of the pulp flow from the upper surface, wherein the trailing surface tapers to the surface of the rotor and meets the surface of the rotor at a back region of the trailing surface, and opposite sidewalls extending between the trailing surface and the surface of the rotor, wherein the opposite sidewalls gradually converge towards the back region.

Apparatus for screening fibrous suspensions

An apparatus for screening a fibrous suspension including: a housing, conduits therein at least for fiber suspension being fed, reject and accept, and a rotor and a cylindrical screen drum installed in the housing, at least one of which is rotatable, whereby a surface of the rotor is provided with rotor elements in proximity to the surface of the screen drum, whereby each rotor element includes a front surface facing a flow of the fiber suspension, an upper surface and a trailing surface sloping from the upper surface towards the surface of the rotor, wherein the trailing surface of the rotor element is curved and sidewalls of the trailing surface converge at a back point of the rotor element.

The present invention relates to the thickening of pulp suspensions. A low consistency pulp suspension is fed to a pre-thickener () through an inlet conduit (). A layer of thickened pulp, formed on a filter surface (), is pushed along the filter surface by a cleaning member to the discharge end of the pre-thickener and is discharged through the outlet (). The cleaning member comprises a rotating shaft (), on which shaft at least one screw thread () is fixed so as to leave a free space between the shaft and the screw thread. Essentially non-thickened pulp is allowed to flow through the apparatus via this space.

Method for the controlled thickening of low consistency fiber suspensions

The present invention relates to the thickening of pulp suspensions. A low consistency pulp suspension is fed to a pre-thickener ( ) through an inlet conduit ( ). A layer of thickened pulp, formed on a filter surface ( ), is pushed along the filter surface by a cleaning member to the discharge end of the pre-thickener and is discharged through the outlet ( ). Essentially non-thickened pulp is allowed to flow through the apparatus via this space.
