A coupling may include a main body having a first circumferential end and a second circumferential end. The coupling may further include a first tab extending from the first circumferential end and a second tab extending from the second circumferential end, the first tab including a first opening to receive a fastener and the second tab including a second opening to receive the fastener. The coupling may further include a central tab extending from the first circumferential end, the central tab received within a central tab opening of the second circumferential end. In some embodiments, an electrical metallic tubing (EMT) may extend within a central cavity defined by a tubular shape of the main body. The coupling may further include a set screw extending through the first and second tabs for engagement with the EMT.

Coupling for electrical metallic tubing

A connector for a flexible non-metallic conduit is provided. The connector may include a gland nut for receiving the conduit, and a gland ring within the gland nut. The gland ring may be sized to extend around the conduit. The connector may further include a body threadably secured to the gland nut, and a ferrule disposed within the body, wherein the ferrule includes a first keying feature coupled to a second keying feature of the body to cause rotation therebetween, and wherein the ferrule is inserted partially into the conduit. In some embodiments, the gland nut is not directly physically coupled to the conduit, so the gland nut may slide over the conduit towards/away from the body. In some embodiments, during assembly, the body and the gland nut may be rotated together to cause external threading of the ferrule to engage an inner wall of the conduit.

Non-metallic liquid-tight conduit connector

Provided herein are conduit couplings and connector assemblies suitable for wet locations. In some embodiments, a connector assembly includes a conduit, a compression ring extending around the conduit, and a connector body extending around a conduit outer surface, wherein the connector body including first and second ends. The connector body may further include an inner cavity and an internal stop, wherein the inner cavity and the internal stop define first and second sections. The connector assembly may further include a sealing ring within the inner cavity, wherein the sealing ring is directly adjacent the stop, a compression seal extending around the conduit outer surface, wherein the compression seal is in abutment with the first end or the second end of the connector body, and a friction ring extending around the conduit outer surface, wherein the friction ring is in abutment with the compression ring and the compression seal.

Conduit fitting suited for wet locations

Provided herein are exemplary connector assemblies including a conduit body having a conduit inner surface opposing a conduit outer surface, at least a portion of the conduit inner surface being a threaded portion. The connector assemblies may further include a compression ring extending from a first circumferential end to a second circumferential end, wherein the first circumferential end is complementarily engageable with the second circumferential end, wherein the compression ring includes a first axial end and a second axial end, and wherein the compression ring has a circumferential gap between the first circumferential end and the second circumferential end in an uncompressed configuration. The connector assemblies may further include a bushing positioned within the threaded portion of the conduit inner surface of the conduit body.

Conduit body with super fitting

A coupling assembly for securing two conduits together includes a coupling sleeve, a compression nut, and a stop seal ring. The coupling sleeve includes an outwardly-protruding stop flange, and the stop seal ring fits over the coupling sleeve without sliding past the stop flange. The coupling sleeve enters an expanded end of a first conduit until the stop seal ring is squeezed by the stop flange and the conduit. The conduit sleeve is crimped with the first conduit, and the nut with a compression ring therein is screwed onto the conduit sleeve. A second conduit is inserted into the nut and the conduit sleeve, and tightening the nut compresses the compression ring to grip and secure the second conduit. With the stop seal ring squeezed between the stop flange and the first conduit, the coupling assembly protects against rain or other liquids from entering the conduits.

Coupling assembly with watertight feature for securing conduits together

A coupling assembly for securing rigid conduits together end-to-end, or to a junction box, includes a coupling body, one or two compressible gland rings, and one or two compression nuts. The coupling body includes a first segment extending from a second segment, with an optional midsection therebetween. The compression nut threadably engages about externally-threaded coupling first and/or second segments, compressing a gland ring as it is tightened. A bend in the compression nut, and complementarily chamfers formed in the coupling body and the gland ring, may help to squeeze and compress the gland ring. The compressible gland ring is internally-threaded, and, when compressed, it bites down or grips unthreaded conduits, and its threads interlock with threads of threaded conduits. Two conduits may be secured together by rotating the coupling body and/or the compression nut of the coupling assembly without needing to rotate conduits, which can be heavy and cumbersome.

Compression coupling assembly for securing conduits together

An exemplary connector assembly includes an elongated body with an internal passage for a conduit or cables. A body aperture region with a body fastener aperture is set between two elongated slots. The body aperture region may radially bulge out from the body, and may alternatively or additionally include an aperture flange protruding from the body aperture region. A U-shaped connector clip includes two parallel teeth that are inserted in the two slots, and a clip body having a clip fastener aperture. A fastener is inserted through the fastener apertures, securing the connector clip to the body. A fastening clip secures the fastener to the connector clip and keeps the connector clip from falling back into the slots as the connector clip is being disengaged from the body. Each clip tooth includes an engaging end that is complementarily interfittable with grooves in the conduit, keeping the conduit in place.

Electrical conduit connector with two-point engagement

A cam lock mechanism for securing a conduit cover to a conduit body includes a fastener extending from a cam lock. The fastener includes a fastener shaft situated between a fastener head and the cam lock. The fastener may include a flare portion, allowing the fastener to be secured to the cam lock by inserting the flare portion into a cam lock opening and deforming the flare portion. The cam lock may include an at least partially helical cam lock outer portion extending radially outwardly farther than the fastener shaft. When the cam lock mechanism is used to secure a conduit cover to a conduit body, the conduit cover is brought closer to the conduit body as the cam lock mechanism is rotated. A cam lock stopper, such as an upward bend, may be provided in the cam lock to resist overturning of the cam lock mechanism.

A compression ring includes an outer surface opposing an inner surface, with teeth extending radially inwardly from the inner surface. First and second circumferential ends are complementarily interfittable, and are separated by a circumferential gap, allowing the compression ring to be compressable when being installed in a connector assembly. First and second axial ends of the compression ring are chamfered to facilitate compression. The teeth extend circumferentially from the first and second circumferential ends and are complementary to conduit threading. Each tooth includes first and second sides, with the first side perpendicular to the inner surface to resist pullout of a conduit from the connector assembly. The teeth terminate in sharp points for better gripping of unthreaded conduits. A compressed compression ring accommodates threaded conduits by complementarily mating with threading, and unthreaded conduits by biting into their outer surfaces. Internal and external sealing gaskets provide seals from moisture.

Connector assembly suited for wet locations

An exemplary connector assembly includes a connector body, a compression nut, a compression ring, and a sealing ring. A conduit may be inserted through the compression nut and the connector body. The compression ring may include a circumferential gap between two complementarily interfittable circumferential ends to allow it to compress, and the sealing ring may vary in diameter along its axial length. As the connector body screws into the compression nut, the compression nut presses against the compression ring, which in turn pushes the sealing ring against the connector body. The connector body may include a connector chamfer. The sealing ring pressing against the connector body, preferably against the connector chamfer, forms a seal between the conduit and the connector body. The seal resists contaminants such as dust and moisture. Compression of the compression ring around the conduit helps secure the conduit to the compression nut and the connector body.

An exemplary cover for a conduit body integrates a lid with a gasket. The gasket is a closed loop with an upper rim portion and a lower rim portion forming an inner groove therebetween. The lid includes a hump surrounded by a border, and the border is positioned within the inner groove to secure the lid and the gasket together. The border of the lid has a slight convexity with respect to the bottom side of the lid, providing the lid with a slight curvature toward the conduit body. As a result, the lid bows downward between two fastening points at opposing ends of the lid. The gasket preferably includes a ridge protruding down from the lower rim portion. This ridge also faces the conduit body on which the cover is removably secured.

Cover for conduit body

A coupling device that provides a liquid tight seal at the connection with a conduit with easy installation. The device comprises a tubular connector body, a compression nut, a first sealing ring, a second sealing ring, a ferrule, and a lock nut. The coupling device may be installed fully assembled and does not require disassembly of the packaged product before installation. In the connector body a radial ledge is formed within the tubular spaces between the first and second ends. The radial ledge of the connector body has at least one depression. The ferrule has a tubular body with a radial flange extending from a first end portion. At least one protrusion extends from the radial flange that corresponds to the depression on the tubular body. When the depression of the tubular body engages the protrusion of the ferrule, it restricts the ferrule from relative rotation. This restriction allows that the coupling device be installed fully assembled.

Liquid-tight coupling device with screw-on ferrule device and method of use

A junction box for electrical wiring includes one or more wiring connectors non-removably pre-mounted to side panels thereof. A variety of different connector types for supporting a variety of different types of electrical cables and wiring conduits may be provided in a single junction box. Removable plugs are provided to block the connector passageways, but are easily removed from those connectors that are to be used for wiring in a particular installation. Since built-in connectors of various types are provided, end-user installation time is reduced.

A coupling device for electrical wire-carrying conduits for assembly with an overhead support member having a stem with a free threaded end. The coupling device includes an integral tubular member having axially opposed ends, each of which receives an end of a mating conduit, and the integral top surface on the tubular member has an aperture for engagement with the free end of the stem of the supporting member.

A connector/bushing assembly for electrical junction boxes includes a nut which may receive a male conduit/connector which extends through the wall of a junction box, and a liner situated within the nut. The nut receives the male connector within a nut junction end situated opposite from a nut entry end. The liner is received within the nut entry end to extend toward the nut junction end, and includes a floating portion near the nut junction end, with the floating portion defining a cylinder spaced from the inner diameter of the nut junction end so that the (cylindrical) male connector can be received within the nut junction end between the floating portion and the nut junction end.
